With the new rules for our challenges now ready to go, we hope that you are ready to start TBL CHALLENGE 9.1, 9.2, 9.3....
We are excited about these rules, and now it is time to decide as a group what team we should use. Based on previous polls, and teams we have used in the past (now eliminated from this poll) we thought the 5 teams listed above would be the best to work with in our new rules set, to get an idea of where we are with this.
Please vote. Please participate in the Challenge. BEST OF LUCK TO ALL!!
The poll will run until Saturday July 28. The winner of the poll will be TBL's next challenge team!

I voted for the Yotes! I always thought i could do far better things than what the AI does with them with the roster they have, but never tried yet.
Never played with any of the teams listed though, exept the Wild for a beta-testing, but i never get the team right

I went with the Panthers. I thought it might be interesting to play them now that they don't have Luongo. They've got some great young players but there are a lot of holes in their roster.
I would've voted for the Blackhawks (they're chock full of prospects) but I just played a couple seasons with them on my own not long ago. I've also played a couple seasons as the Wild but that was on an older version of EHM.
I supposed the Islanders or Coyotes could be interesting too.

We're planning on a long-term challenge. The new stat recording Excel book I'm working on is set up for 7 seasons. Of course, the length of the challenge is going to be determined by user participation but the plan is for this to be a long challenge. One of the reasons we changed the challenge rules is that it was getting boring to see a team made to be successful for only one or two seasons. We want to see everyone develop their players instead of trading the future for guys that will help for the short term.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up, was just asking because my vote depends on that

I also voted for the Panthers.
Mainly for the same reasons a B72 - they have no goalie to speak of (NOT easy to overcome!) but they do have some bright stars to build a lineup around - perfect for the core of players! Boumeester and Horton are two players I've never been able to acquire - so it's very tempting! Go Cats!

I voted Hawks.

I was torn between the Panthers and the Hawks. Picked Chicago eventually. With all the restrictions those 2 teams would offer the biggest challenge IMO, Isles and Yotes are fairly good teams in the game IMO.

This is going to be a very interesting vote. The Coyotes came out to a huge lead but both the Hawks and the Panthers are starting to gain momentum. I'll be curious to see how this one ends up. I just hope that all the folks that are voting play the challenge. It would be great to see so many people participating!

I voted for Blackhawks and it was kind of vote against Coyotes. From the teams listed I would've wanted to play Wild but since they got only one vote I went with the Hawks, 'cause I find Coyotes the least interesting of the choices.
Go Blackhawks!

I'm with kuulapaa....I don't think PHX would be a very fun choice. I mean, really, what is there to work with??
Go Cats!:-D

This is turning into a real race! Phoenix and Chicago are tied up and Florida is only one vote behind!
Get your votes in now, folks. I don't think this poll is going to stay open too long. We want to get everyone started on the new challenge soon.

Don't challenge Nick, he's on a role! First the Battaglia shirt and then the receipt in the wallet he lost that let the bus company contact him to give it him back

Christ the Hawks never win anything. No way they win this. But could that have all changed with the Draft Lottery?
Anyway...Minty has not even voted and the Hawks are winning. Holy crapoli.

Question, if I vote for the Hawks, can I fire Mr. Mirtz? I can't stand what that guy is doing to an orignal 6 team.

It's Wirtz, isn't it? IIRC, he's the owner or president, so unfortunately the game doesn't allow you (the GM to fire him). You can fire just about anybody else though. You can get rid of any staff member listed below you (the GM ) on the personnel screen.
In the challenge we've only put in rules restricting the rosters of the teams. You're still totally free to do whatever you want with the staff (not including using an editor, of course). Some teams are just dying for a staff house-cleaning!
