Edit: This might actually be pretty good for the Leafs, since Bell was basically just bad salary being moved along with Toskala. That is if he's off the cap. Anyone know if imprisoned players count against the cap? :-D

Nah...they should not be. At least Leaf, Ranger, Red Wing and Hab players salaries should not be. :-D

The article says that he will serve his sentence at the end of the next seaon.. so Leafs not making the playoff.. going to jail in april.. coming out in septembre.. he might not miss a game!

By the way batdad.. in Montreal, the jail bars are made of stanley cups

When will people realize that it is bad to drink and drive. You would think that a guy making a million dollars a year can afford twenty bucks for a cab ride home...

Just ask Paris Hilton :-D :-D

Lol, I laughed a lot on Jacknife's commentary about the Leafs not making the PA and that Mark wouldnt miss a game, lol...maybe because I hope that the Leafs arent making the playoffs?? Probably...

I shouldnt say this without my loyer near, but I guess I prefer the Habs before the Leafs, lol!!!

Nahhh, I just came home after work (I work nightshifts) and after some beers with the pals from work, so dont get me too serious, lol...

...hate both of them, but I have to say that with the Habs fans I know here and some from the HF boards my good opinion about them has increased a lot (again, dont take this too serious :-p )...maybe some day I will show u guys the picture my cousin over here made from me wearing a Habs jersey (to my defense I have to say that I was really, really drunk and that my friends couldnt believe their eyes seeing me wearing a Habs jersey....it was Savards jersey...at least a good player, lol...)...

Time to sleep...and to shut up, lol...

Hey...Hey! No cheap shots at Steamer. Not allowed! How can he be responsible for those unis. Come on. Smyl is our version of.....I dunno who...um ... Mario Tremblay? I dunno. Just no mocking Smyl.

On topic: Bell is an idiot. But not as big an idiot as Pac Man Jones.

Heh. Thomas Gradin. The man who most people in the know, think was the most talented Canuck ever. Over Bure, Naslund, Linden. Wonder if Luongo will replace him finally?

And yeah..that shirt was uggggggly.

Go Bell!! Go JFJ!

Have you heard the story of what happened when Thomas Gradin took a face-off against Mark Messier in the mid-eighties. Well, he won it - and Messier (the way he was) went mad and swong his stick right at Gradins head, knocking him out cold...

Just a little anecdote regarding Thomas Gradin 8-)

Have I heard? I saw that. And boy was there an uproar in this city over that one.

So anyway, Toronto radio personailites are all over JFJ now. Why not before? Did they not know this was going to happen? If not, the radio personalities and JFJ should be fired.

Oh, and here in Vancouver they are saying that Bell may be the most motivated player in the history of Leaf hockey to help the Loafs to the finals. Cause then he can stay out of jail longer.

Also apparently the deal he has cut would allow him out of jail for t-camp and next season, not just this one, and then if there was time left to serve he would go back to jail after 2008-09 as well. Nice lawyering there.

So..Bell is not going to miss any hockey, no matter the outcome apparently

Is the time spent in the penalty box count to reduce the sentence?

As Denis Lemieux would say, "Drunk driving bad, against ze law to do zat. Mark Bell go to ze slammer for six month and he feel shame."
