I was scouting the AHL and found a player named Dmitri Shitikov playing for Bridgeport. Think of the teasing he would have gone through, if he would have gone to school in the U.S. or Canada as a child.

I had a regen by the name of Mario Lemieux, he wasn't half bad either

Fukufuji plays in the AHL as well

There also is Robin Big Snake

And Colton Yellow Horn, the list of strange names are endless

I think Big Snake and Yellow Horn are both Native American names. They're not cases of the computer putting together funny sounding names. These are names that come from their culture.

My all-time favorite odd name came up in the old freeware version of the game. There was a computer created player that I drafted with the last name Cantplayski. That amused me to no end.

YEs they are. And I DARE anyone to walk up to Robin and say his name is funny. That would be a serious ass whooping. I have met him times and he was a hell of a nice kid, and is a great person now apparently. Not perfect I am sure, but a good guy.

Love cantplayski..was he a regen of Yashin?

Yashin CAN play It's just that he is too lazy to do so

Those Native names are actually quite tame compared to some of the ones I've come across in my job recently...

How about Blackbear Beaverbones? Or Red Old Man?
