I would like to edit the players to there current levels of play, i understand it would take forever, But i don't want to do it if its going to cause problems. I figure if you guys aren't doing it must not be possible, i just would like to play the 2007-08 season, not the 06-07 season with 07-08 rosters. Any help would be appreciated.

It's not that you can't do it or anything. It's just that some people don't like to play around with the players attributes here. They would much rather just use them in the game and go from there and not worry about it at all.
By the way, mostly what we do around here is just update rosters and not the players attributes.
I know it's hard to see a player in the NHL doing great, but looking at him in the game and noticing that he should be 10 times better attribute wise.
But then again, that doesn't mean that you can sign him and train him to be that great.
All in all, I don't know that you will see any player attribute changes for download around here.
Feel free to go in and change them yourself though and you can get the programs from the Eastside UK website. They are easy to use and very efficient in size.

It's not so much that, its, more so the rookies, like Lucic and Mueller. that just can't play in the AHL in this game unless you like hide them or the older players like Forsberg and Sundin, who are way to good.
also the prospects potential ratings are woefully out of order.
I'd like to play with defensive attributes as well as goaltending to even out the irregularities with there stats. i know its a volital issue here maybe its just the FM in me.

Every attribute you see in the game, plus a bunch of hidden ones, can all be changed. You just need the Eastside-UK editor to do it.
As for why it's not a common TBL practice: Many of us on here tend to avoid attribute changes because we don't think anyone really has the knowledge to be changing attributes from their official researched numbers, and then calling it an "update" for everyone. Even if they're out-of-date, they're still a lot more accurate overall than if someone sat down and changed them based on his single opinion(versus the opinions of the hundred or so original researchers).
But that's just a handful of us. Many people like updated attributes... and they're definitely update-able. So if you want to change them, go grab the editor, and edit away!

Didn't LaZ's db have updated attrib's? I looked at it briefly and Pascal LeClaire looked nigh-on godlike

I think the issue here is that the random potential are, well, just too random here when we look at the young players. If it were me, I'd manually set their PA and maybe up the CA a bit. Looking at some of these young players now, their PA certianly looks too low. Price, for example, is looking like he should have a PA of at least 160 - 180. That would put him into good starting goalies to potentially great goalie. But with his current random potential, he could go as low as 130. This will not be undoing all the work of SI researchers as well since their base attributes are untouch.
From what I've seen with the saved game editor over 6 or 7 seasons, players don't develop their base attribute by a lot. The base could increase by 1 pt (or 8-12 pts looking in the saved game editor) only. However, when their CA goes up, their in game attribute will increase by as much as 4 - 5 pts.
Just my 2 cents.

Yes Lazion has edited attributes, and clearly since his guys are from way back so does Pens66.
Those are alternative rosters TBL has agreed to put up, as we would with others if they had asked.
What Stinson and the others mean by TBL not updating attributes is that the official TBL mods for EHM have not edited attributes.
This does not mean we won't do one that way in the future...just for now we felt we should not.

I understand that players are sometimes not rated correctly in this game. But you have to understand that after 20 years into the game.
All the players that you change around are just going to retire and leave.

yes, but there changing will change the way those play out thus the reverberation of those players will change the entirety of the game.

Has anyone else noticed -- as you get deeper into the game, the standard of players gets higher? You'll have en entire first round of players that have multiple green attributes and if you look at the 2007 dfat, there's... none.
A player that has the attritubes to have been phenominal in like 08-09 is just a mediocre player inn 22-23.

What you're seeing in those drafts are the regens. That when the retired NHL stars are coming back as new players and getting drafted into the NHL. They come in waves sometimes.

I'm speaking a little bit more extensively...
It just seems like the medium of skill and ability rises, which is fine, just fun to see.
