The most of us who don't live across the Atlantic (in the USA or Canada) will probably never see a NHL game live in the hockey arena of their beloved hockey team. But I discoverd this site:

Thrashers

What a great find! Shame the Bruins' arena is "coming soon to the site".
I was having a look from the nose-bleeders of the Stars' arena - not that bad a view actually. Although I imagine it would be fairly difficult to keep up with the puck.

Cool site indeed. There used to be a really cool time-lapse video at the Blackhawks official site that showed them converting the surface from a basketball court to the ice surface; couldn't find it though; I guess they've taken it down.
Arch, I don't know about Dallas but I actually like the upper seats at Chicago's United Center (yes, partially because everything in the lower level is 75 to 250 dollars!) you can see the whole ice and easily watch away from the puck which is very interesting and something you can't do on TV. It's often easier due to the angle to track the puck actually.
It's two different experiences sitting close so you can really see the speed power and size of these guys and get a feeling just how darn tough this game really is.

When I used to watch the hockey at Manchester we used to have seats fairly close to the action. Maybe about 15-20 rows back. I loved sitting in that position because you could really feel the action.
I've always sat in the same place more-or-less. Not that I could ever really sit that much further back since the top tiers were never open (never a big enough crowd for warranting opening the upper tier).
When the team was first established, they were getting crowds of close to 20,000 and so they did have the upper tier open. In fact, Manchester Storm hold (or at least held) the record attendance for a hockey match in the whole of Europe 8). But then people got bored of hockey in Manchester...

Hehe, Manchester storm... I remember this one match from EHL times, when HIFK played vs Manchester Storm. HIFK won that match 4-2, but the funny part is that i've never seen so much penalties given in one match. Ari Ahonen, HIFK's goalie back then got thrown out of the game, and storm even had to dress a regular player as their goalie since both of them got a game misconduct :p. Good old times..
