I've heard of that next season of Russia superleague willl be a lot different : It’s going to be an open league now, the biggest change is the expanson from 20 to 24 teams and also including 3 teams (1 each) from Latvia, Belarus and Kazkhastan. All the existing teams are back and the 2nd divion champion who got promoted. It will be 24 teams divided into 4 divisions of 6. The divisions are named after Soviet Hockey Legends.

Bobrov Division
Salavat Yulaev Ufa (2007-08 RSL Champions)
Dynamo Minsk (Belarus)
Spartak Moscow
Metallurg Novokuznetsk
Severstal Cherepovets
Atlant Mytischi

Tarasov Division
Metallurg Magnitogorsk
Avtomobilist Ekateringburg
Traktor Chelybinsk
HC MVD Balashikha
SKA St. Pettersburg
CSKA Moscow

Kharlamov Division
Avangard Omsk
Lokomotiv Yaroslav (2007-08 RSL Runner Up)
Lada Togliatti
Sibir Novosibirsk
Amur Khabarovsk
Dinamo Riga (Latvia)

Chernyshev Division
AK Bars Kazan
Barys Astana (Kazkhastan)
Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod
Vityaz Chekhov
Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk
Dynamo Moscow

On this matter i wonder if could've a way to change EHM game or this is a case of hard coded issue like NHL schedule that i'd like to change too, but so far no solution to it.

It's hard coded, I'm afraid :dunno:

Nothing to do, all coded.

By the way my friend from Brazil. Don't want to go too off topic, but here there is a good article I wrote some time ago for eurohockey.net
http://www.eurohockey.net/news/story.ht ... esetsrules

I will write another one shortly

Great read, Alessandro.

Though, I do have to admit that if I had access to watch Russian hockey, I'm not sure I'd like the league after these new changes. I think they're too NHL-ish... and since the lockout, my hate for the NHL has been rapidly increasing.

Thanks Alessandro! good reading indeed!!

SI will not continue with EHM so it's a shame that we can't have access to the source code. I hope that when EHM become a abandonware, SI allowed it such as Sierra did with Red Baron.

Actually this is not correct. Second division chempion are Khimik Voskresensk, but it's Avtomobilist from Ekaterinburg who got promoted to KHL. They are a rich club, in a big city. Their boss is a high level businessman and can guarantee a budget of 20-25 milion dollars

I've been thinking about, when the new rosters come out, moving all the KHL teams to the Echl (which has 4 divisions and 25 teams) and adding another team (like Yekaterinberg or Kiev) to make the league playable. would this work?

If I understand you correctly, no. You could do the moving, but adding another team wouldn't be possible - league structures(division sizes, number of teams, etc.) are hard-coded.

What I mean is, since the ECHL has 25 teams, and the KHL has 24, I'd just add one to the KHL to fill the gap. Of course I'd still have to deal with ECHL rules and veteran restrictions and what not.
