My appolgies if this is the wrong area to post this question but I downloaded the saved game editor for EHM 2005 and I am unsure of how to use it? Could someone please tell me how to use it properly as I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to using applications like this.
Also, does the pre-game editor follow the same steps for use as the saved game editor? Thanks in advance!

Saved Game Editor - Lets you edit a saved game
Pre-Game Editor - Edit the actual game database. After editing the database you will have to start a new game to see the changes.
To use the saved game editor, you need to disable the "saved compressed" option in the EHM preferences screen. After doing this, save the game and exit EHM. Load the Saved Game Editor and open the saved game file.
This is all off the top of my head. I have only ever tried the Saved Game Editor for EHM 2005 once or twice. Neil (mne2) is the man to talk to - maybe he'll pop into this thread.

The saved game editor is much more primative that the pre-game editor. In order to use the saved game editor you need to save your game uncompressed.

Thanks gents. All I want to do is change around NHL/AHLaffiliations and maybe do some staff/player edits.
Did anyone encounter issues when editing in the 2005 version? I've seen in the other topic related to editing for 2007 that several problems occur, just wondering if there were issues in 05'. Cheers.

You can't edit affiliations in the saved game editor. The 2005 pre-game editor has a flaw which only came to light during the 2007 development which can cause problems.

Is there anything with regard to using the saved game editor I should watch out for that may corrupt my current game I'm playing?

To correctly edit the staff atributes of a saved game, all you have to do is create a db with the proper attributes, save it, then copy the attributes to the game you want to edit.
...if you can understand that, I cant express myself any better
