Creating Playable League

Hello,

I rememeber a while ago reading that a new feature for a new version of the pre-game editor would be creating playable leagues (before devolpment on the editors stopped). Is anyone around familiar with the way the pre-game editor was made? I have a little programming backround, and if possible I'd like to lookin into it and see how hard it would be to get this type of thing working.

Thanks!

Hi Luckyshot. Welcome to the TBL forums!

Mne2 hasn't ceased development on the Pre-Game Editor (not sure about the Saved Game Editor). He's taken time out from developing them because (if I remember correctly) he had to buy a new laptop. I believe he has recommenced improving the Editor.

I don't remember him stating that a future feature would be to create new playable leagues. Perhaps you misunderstood him? It is impossible to create new playable leagues in EHM 2007 because they are hardcoded into the game. The only way to add extra leagues would be to decompile the game's code (highly illegal) and do some serious re-coding. It's the same issue with the start date being locked at 2006 - it's hardcoded into the game and so nothing can be done about this. All the Editor can do is edit the database - it can't create new playable leagues because it can't edit the game's code.

Unless I missed some big news, I think you may be recalling reading about creating non-playable leagues. The editor can do that; but not playable - for reasons mentioned by Archi.

Is there any chance of the source code being released now that the game is dead? Playing the same leagues is getting really old, and as much as I want to keep playing, the game isn't fresh anymore.
