Using Lidas' database, can you use any of the current facepacks?
======================================================================================
Admin Note (Archi): This question has been asked several times and so I have renamed this thread to make it thread to discuss anything related to facepacks for the 08/09 update - either help on renaming them or to announce you've released a pack especially for the rosters. Please find details below on how to rename facepack images to be compatible with Lidas' 08/09 update (quoted from bobmcgoo and Daigle:
======================================================================================
Better to use this for pictures:
http://www.ghisler.com/download.htm because it has a multi-rename function, so you can do it all in one go, by copying:
1959|1960|1961|1962|1963|1964|1965|1966|1967|1968|1969|1970|1971|1972|1973|1974|1975|1976|1977|1978|1979|1980|
1981|1982|1983|1984|1985|1986|1987|1988|1989|1990|1991|1992|1993
into the "search for" box, and:
1957|1958|1959|1960|1961|1962|1963|1964|1965|1966|1967|1968|1969|1970|1971|1972|1973|1974|1975|1976|1977|1978|
1979|1980|1981|1982|1983|1984|1985|1986|1987|1988|1989|1990|1991
into the "replace with" box.
Obviously, you're going to have to add dates pre-1959 if you have staff pictures for anyone older.

Yes, but you have to change the birthdate in the filenames on every player. For example "Peter_Forsberg_20_7_1973" to "Peter_Forsberg_20_7_1971" and so forth. I hope my explanation is understandable ^^

Hi!!!
I need to get my players´s age up one year. Example: Anton strålman-1983 should be 1984... Im using total commander but I dont know how to get all the players up one year, I´ve tried the numbers you wrote above but then the players lost a year then (Strålman became 1982).
How should i proceed?

put in this lines to make your cards a year older:
1959|1960|1961|1962|1963|1964|1965|1966|1967|1968|1969|1970|1971|1972|1973|1974|1975|1976|1977|
1978|1979|1980|1981|1982|1983|1984|1985|1986|1987|1988|1989|1990|1991|1992|1993
1960|1961|1962|1963|1964|1965|1966|1967|1968|1969|1970|1971|1972|1973|1974|1975|1976|1977|1978|
1979|1980|1981|1982|1983|1984|1985|1986|1987|1988|1989|1990|1991|1992|1993|1994

Solved it! The soulution was to delete all pictures, and add them again. And then do the stuff in total commander. Thx anyway!

You must change the names on the pictures from 1.3 as all the players' birthdates has been changed. It will take a while to do so I think you have to wait, if you don't want to do it by yourself.

You have to rename the pictures (both players and nonplayers) and change the year by one.
1984 -> 1983 and so on. You can automate it by various programs, such as Total Commander. It is already discussed somewhere here in detail, but I can't find it know.
Just be sure to backup what you're going to change
I'll post a script for PC later today to shift all dates at once. Stay tuned

So I created a script for changing picture names in bulk between all databases and now it's pending approval by Archi. Ones he releases it, I'll write you how to use it.

Thanks McQwak. I've added it to the Downloads database:
http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/dl ... ile_id=598
I think it's a lot easier to use than that freeware utility that has been recommended in the past.

Thanks a lot for creating that batch file, McQwak. There's one problem with it, though. It seems that anyone with a birthdate ending in a 1 (ie 1981, 1971, etc) have their date changed to 1981980, or 1971970, etc. This can be fixed by adding an _ in front of each number in the batch file (ie. from *1981.* to *_1981.*). I'd reccomend adding this in an update to the batch files so that all the pictures work and, for the time being at least, no new facepack is needed for the 2.0 DB.
Also, if anyone has any trouble with the batch file saying "access is denied" when trying to rename the files, you must set the entire folder for players and nonplayers to not be in read-only mode. You can do this by navigating to data\pictures and right-clicking both the players and nonplayers folders and selecting "Properties". You must then un-check the box saying "Read-only" and click okay to apply it to all files within the folder. You may then place the batch file in the folder and run it, and the rest does itself.

I tried that .bat but it didn't work. For me atleast. Could anyone upload the facepack if you got it to work? Would be really nice. Thanks.

Thanks Canuckk, I fixed it and send it to Archi. If you want it to use immediatelly, it's
here.
Aquilani, there is no facepack primarily created for Lidas2.0. You have to download facepacks compatible with previous Lidas or TBL rosters and then convert file names by invoking one of the sctipts I made. Which facepack do you use? Write an example of picture file name you want to make compatible with Lidas2.0.

I use: Non-TBL Style NHL Action Pack for Lidas Rosters 1.3.
But the thing is that i tried your .bat in pictures but it just did say access denied and i also tried the thing Canuckk said.

Use shift_dates_by_1.bat script inside your data/pictures/players folder (backup data before running it). Maybe you have to be admin or something like that. It has something to do with security on your computer. Which OS do you use?

I had the same problem. It's because Vista keeps resetting the 'read-only' option. Try this:
Right click the folder and bring up properties. Go to security and then advanced. It should bring up a list of 'permissions'. If in the list 'User' is set to 'read and execute only' click edit, an identical looking box will open, click on 'users' from the list and click edit again. Select the 'full control' option, click 'ok' then 'apply'. Now when you get rid of the 'read-only' property it will stay gone. The .bat file should work.
Hope this works for you. It did for me.
