Wow, not sure if I think it's admirable for a guy to be honest with himself that he can't do it anymore or rediculous to leave his team in the lurch by quitting on them weeks into the season. Either way it's pretty surprising.

I'll miss having his call-it-like-it-is voice out there in the mix. I can say though that I would love to have him as a GM, could make team struggles and/or trade rumors reallllllly interesting :-D

I can't believe that he's retired. It's so strange that only a week ago, his dad had his number unretired for Brett. Maybe I'm reading too much into the situation, but are there other reasons for his retirement?

Either way, he's an absolute legend and will be sorely missed. He had one of the meanest slapshots in hockey.

...and I thought that the new NHL is only designed for players like him...pure OFFENSIVE cannons :-D
So it cannot be the Rules. Maybe really the time took the toll on him.

So, farewell Brett - over 800 NHL Goals, and a shot that breaks even walls... :notworthy:

So here I say the same,

Farewell to the best NHL shooter on my memory, Brett Hull. I was hoping for 1 or 2 seasons for him to flash on the ice like he did all his way though, was hoping for even more... like I'm struggling for all early-90'ties to stay for the most time they can... but life is what it is, so I just thank him for all he have done for ice hockey all over the world.

Alex.
