After 25 games into my first season it appears, just as in '05 ehm, you have to have a suspension of disbelief if you are going to play '07. I just had a two game span, while playing as the penguins, that on a total of 117 shots i scored one goal and went 0-17 on the power play. This included getting shut out by Rick freakin' Dipietro on 62 shots. So is it common to average over 45 shots per game and 7-10 power plays in the '07 version? Also, I am a big fan of the 'crashing the net' offensive style of '05. What is the closest thing to that in the '07 version? Anyway, despite the occasional head-scratching play like Shanahan shooting a length-of the-rink clear that bounces off the boards at center ice then slides past Fleury into the net, this is still the best game out there!

I know this is an old thread, but here goes:
I found that in preseason games, my team will often get over a dozen powerplays per game, and give up about the same. The results are usually consistent with yours, no pp goals. The regular season is much more realistic, with usually 3-6 pp's per game.
In '07, the best style for crashing the net, at least on the pp, is Overload Slot. You need a big, strong centerman for this type of play, however.
Yes, this game is awesome. I never get bored with it, even after taking a few months off for other stuff.
