Rangers need Gaborik, Hossa or Heatley...
They should also either trade or waive Rozival and Redden, I dont care what we get for them. A 7th round pick would be "two thumbs way up"!

Rangers will probably get Heatley, apparently it's a 2 horse race between them and the Oilers...

Anaheim, Los Angeles and Toronto are looking Hossa and Heatley. Montreal is looking Lecavalier. Maybe Heatley goes to Anaheim or Los Angeles, Brian Burke said that he isn't going to make contract with Heatley, 'cause Heatley haven't respected his teams (Atlanta and Ottawa). But maybe Burke said it 'cause Heatley's market value could decrease.
I think that Hossa re-sign with Penguins and next Detroit won Stanley Cup and Pittsburgh is second

One day's left before first July! Can't wait for this day, it's exciting as the trade deadline. Bigs names don't still have their contracts, let's see if at the end of the day if somebody stay with is team.
Bouwmeester didn't sign at Calgary. The Sedin's brothers didn't sign with Vancouver. Wild, Habs, Leafs are in the race fir signing the both twins. I don't know if the Habs want badly to sign them but they tell to Tanguay to wait till July 1st if he want an offer and they don't make an offer to Koivu ( hopefully ) Tanguay is a winger and Koivu is a center, just like the both Sedin.
Tell me if i'm thinking too far but this seems really like Gainey is waiting to sign Tanguay to see if he can sign the both Sedin. Plus they would make the same salary as Tanguay and Koivu, averaging 5.5 or 6 millions. So let's see what gonna happen! But i think the Sedin's would prefer to stay in Vcr.

I've got the confirmation that Komisarek will test the free agency. Is agent says that he would still be open for an offer from the Canadian but i think we gonna see him in another uniform next year. I think it's a good thing since Komi want 4 millions and + per year. This is too much for him and i think he's overated with the Habs, he is not a 1st pair D-men he is a 3 or 4th so less than 4 millions, maybe we could have a deal.

Komisarek is going to sign out west because he's afraid of Lucic.

Scott Gomez been trade to the Canadian!
Ok now i've got the hole deal.
To MTL: Gomez, Pyatt and Busto
To NYR: Higgins, McDonagh, Valatenko and Janik
Still, i don'T know what to think about this trade, it's a big time trade for sure but i'm not a big fan of Scott Gomez. He got a difficult season last year, just hope he would do better this year! My feeling are mix right now.

I am excited to see what Burke does for Leafs. I have seen that there is some interest in Komisarek, and with Kaberle most likely moving.. the leafs could be in the running to get him.
Also, I want to see Burke sign some more grit and strength to the team.

I don't want to disappoint you but Gainey didn't trade McDonagh for nothing. He got a extremely ordinary season with is junior team and he seems to stagnate. He could develop still, but not as quick as they wanted and maybe not as strong as they think. But you know hockey reserve some good suprises.

Gomez used to be a really good player before he ended up on the Rangers. Maybe he just didn't fit there? I'm willing to bet he can turn it around in Montreal.

Where did you heard this rumors of Phaneuf? If they trade him this would be completely insanity lol But this could make a ''monster'' deal.

I wish so, since Montreal became a sort of cemetery for a lot of players. But with the Molson this will certainly change, so i'm confidant with this and Martin seems to be a little bit harder with the player than Carbo.

Really, it's an awful trade and I was just trying to put some sort of positive spin on it.
If Chiarelli did a deal like that, we'd be calling for his head.

I'd say that the trade could end up being good for both sides, though it certainly looks like Rangers made a really one sided trade right now.
Higgins will probably be a very good 2nd line winger for the Rangers and I am sure he'll be happy to be in NYC where his family lives, McDonagh seems like a player that could become a solid NHLer from what I've read and in addition to that they made themselves some nice cap space to sign new players.
As for Gomez, he could end up getting 75-80 points for the Canadiens, giving them the 1st line centre that they need, he could also turn out to be just as average as he was for the Rangers, though.

The Swedish twins stayed in Vancouver. The Sedin's brothers sign a 5 years, 6.1 million per year contract. It's a good thing for the Canucks, they must keep the twins with them if they want to be more competitive.

Mathias Ohlund sign a 7 year deal contract with the Tampa Bay lightning averaging 3.7 millions a year. I tought that this kind of defencemen will easily got 4.5 or 5 million a year, i think it's a steal from the Lightning, what you guys think about this?

I think it will be good for Hedman to be paired with a guy like Ohlund. Tampa is a shaping up and looking a bit better now.

Why sign a 32-year-old on a 7-year deal though?

Franck wrote:Why sign a 32-year-old on a 7-year deal though?
It's not more different for me than Zetterberg or Lecavalier that sign contract until they have 40. Ohlund seem the kind of player that gonna play well until he got 39-40. So if it's salary drop a little bit in the 2 or 3 last years of the contract this is a great deal.

Franck wrote:Why sign a 32-year-old on a 7-year deal though?
I think the length has to do with the number they want applied against the cap. They'll front-load the contract so that the player gets the money he was looking for and then in the later years of the contract it won't be for much. At that point they can buy the player out for cheap. It's all a trick to working the cap.
