Problems running EHM on laptop computer

Ok well I recently downloaded the trial for this game and I absolutely love it and will be buying it soon, and I've been playing it on my desktop computer without a problem on 64-bit Vista. The problem is, I wanted to install it on my laptop (running 32-bit Vista) as well so I could play it anywhere. So I downloaded and installed the trial, but I discovered that I simply could not get it to work. Whenever I try running it, it simply says "This program has stopped working" (or something along those lines) and crashes. Now, I've tried many things to get it to work - I've installed the update, re-installed the whole game, running the game in compatibility mode for XP, running as Administrator, running in Safe Mode, and I've done a search on Google and these forums, but I still haven't found a working solution. I'd really appreciate any help I can get - if you need anything to help diagnose my problem, I'll gladly give it to you. Thanks.

This is most likely a problem with the resolution on the laptop.

Also, I've renamed the thread because "Need Help" is not an acceptable subject. We try to be descriptive in our thread names because we want someone to be able to use the search function and find the answer if they might have the same problem in the future.

Okay, well thank you for the reply and sorry about the vague title. Unfortunately, I've tried tinkering with the resolution and I read the topic you linked, and I still can't get it to work. To be more specific about the crash, the second I run EHM 2007 it says it "Has Stopped Working" and then an Application Error box appears saying "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000005). Click OK to terminate the application." I consider myself pretty decent at figuring out why these kinds of things run into problems, but I'm still stumped on this one. My best guess is that there's a conflict or problem with the laptop's graphics card (an ATI Mobile Radeon X1400), but who knows.

ok for me to ask
I have my lap top connected to my 42" plasma tv, but when I try to start EHM i get a error message about C++?
Doesnt EHM works on a plasma tv, or is there anything I shopuld install or do to make it work this way?

Unplug the cable, open EHM, plug cable back in. For some reason it will not open if it is connected to the TV. I had the same issue.

When using external monitors/tv's, I would suggest running the game in windowed mode at least until you've got it up and running, because if you start the game in full-screen mode it might cause some problems when connected to external monitor/tv due to the resolution changes.
