Welcome to the un-official Challenge 15: Development Competition!

This is a competition where we will prove how well we can develop a certain player. Participating is completely voluntary.
The player we have chosen is Ryan Stoa. He is a rookie with the Avalanche with NCAA background.
The rules are simple: Whoever gats the highest NHL Career average rating from Stoa wins. He must have played 60 games to qualify.

This thread is open to discussion on everything about Ryan Stoa.
Happy gaming!

I applaud anyone who can keep him over 7.2.

I applaud anyone who can justify keeping him on the roster. Ever. :-D

Haha I'll slot him in the roster in about a year or two, pending drafts and my roster.

I took control of Lake Erie only to try and give as much ice time for his skills, 2nd line. :-D
He scored a assist in my first game, go Stoa! :-D

I brought him up when I sent O'reilly back to Erie. In ten games he's at 6.90 with a goal and two assists.

Not too shabby. I find Durno does well in the first year though, so calling him up over Stoa might be a better idea. Let Stoa develop.

not on my team :-P

actually, it looks like he might be 4th line (so far) in Lake Erie - if continues, I may ship him to the Checkers so he can play...

so actually, Stoa's slotted at 2nd line RW in Lake Erie, and was faceoff skill from being an injury callup... still early though

I've had so many injuries in my game that I had to call him up to the Avalanche and he goes ahead and scores in his first game. It's his only goal in 5 games so far and his average rating is 6.8, which isn't too bad compared to the rest of the organization.

Sota ended up playing 66 games for me in the first season, mostly as 4th line centre (bumped up to third when Wolski was out, since I moved Duchene over to the wing) and 2nd unit PK. He scored 8 goals (including 1 shorty) and 7 assists and was -8 with 54 PIM. His AvR was only 6.74, but he was named first star once!!!!

Make that 68 games.

So, how is Stoa doing in your games? He has not had very much success at the start of my season. He even was sent to the ECHL for a while

If I had room on my ECHL roster, I'd send him there. I didn't bother adding an ECHL GM, so I couldn't make room for him. Anyhow, he's been pretty poor on the Lake Erie squad for me. He's a sub-7.00 average rating. He's gotten the ice time too. I've had him on the 2nd line and 2nd PP unit the whole season. He just isn't producing.

He actually played a few in season 1 for me.

7GP-1-0-1 plus 1, 0 PIM, 5 shots 6.71 rating.

I brought him up because he was SUPERB morale. He is actually one of my better players in Lake Erie rating 7.60 in his 63 games. 14 goals, 27 assists. Some others, not doing so well. Duchene barely maintaining an 8 rating, and O'Reilly is mid 7's as well.

Note: Duchene has played 24 games (wonder why) and O'Reilly 8.

Now that I don't have Duchene or O'Reilly for my second season either I have called up Stoa for 4th line center spot in Colorado, in 14 games he's 0+4 and -2. Decent for a player with his "skills" I guess.

He doesn't even get into the Lake Erie line up regularly for me. He got one game with the Avs this season though :-p

I had Stoa play RW on 2 line and 2 pp the first season with the Lake Erie, Stoa managed a 25+34= 59 p 7.18 season in 73 games. Not that great consider he played with O´Reilly as center a had plenty of chances to score. He hasn't progressed that much but some, he will play 3rd line RW this year with the Lake Erie and hopefully he will develope some more. But I have am really doubtful that he will be a regular NHL player, maybe I will have him on the roster next year if he progress, then he might get some 4th line ice time.
