Some Saved Files Not Showing?

Hello! I have been playing a chise with the Los Angeles Kings and I am now almost in year 2018. Today I went to load up the game and found that it did not appear in the list to load games.
Curiously enough, when I went to the folder that holds all of my saved game files, the file still showed up. And, on top of that, it was the full size in megabytes that it had always been, meaning, at least to me, it's probably not corrupt.
Is there any workaround for this? Obviously I would be devastated to see all of my hard work and the life I have wasted playing that franchise go into the stinkhole...

I think all your hardwork did go down the drain. Don't think you can fix it. I had the same problem.

well WOW, thanks, that blows mega ass!
Out of curiosity, is there anything I can do to prevent this? I Had "saved safely" ticked and I guess it did nothing, and this is most certainly the first I've heard of anyone else having this problem. I've had it before, actually, now that I think about it.
Is my installation corrupt, maybe, or something? This is very, very weird, and I hope this trend does not continue

Did you only have one save? I keep 4 or more saves of every game that I'm actively playing and save to the oldest one unless I'm keeping it for a specific purpose. i.e. end of season or some other important date.

Yeah, like Ceebee says, use the option where the game will create numerous saves for your game, that way if one of them gets corrupt, you'll have three other saves to fall back on.
I can't remember if it was the "Save Safely" option or "Use Rolling Saves" that makes this happen. I have them both ticked.

Rolling save is the Auto save I believe. That creates a total of four saves to which it saves to the oldest every month I think. I sometimes make special saves at year end and name them different so I can tell what they are.

Yes, "rolling saves" will keep something like four saves from your most recent saves.
IIRC, "save safely" checks your saved game each time it saves in order to check for corruption. I
think that's what it does.
A way to minimise corruption is to ensure that you disable the compressed saves option. It does take up more disk space but it is a little more reliable.
