Is there a guide for this utility. I have searched and have not found anything.

If there no guide, is there a a thread that talks about the ratings and how to edit players and their attributes.

Thanks.

Edit Names in Existing Season

I messed up my surname and forename when starting a season, I know it's a small thing but it's kinda annoying. Is there anyway to edit names in a saved game? I know the saved game editor has this feature blocked.

No that I know of. From what I last saw, the saved game editor was pretty limited, so there's probably not enough to it to make a guide worthwhile. But I could be wrong, though... perhaps there is a guide out there that I missed.

I think you answered your own question...

If the saved game editor can't do it, it can't be done.

P.S. There seems to have been a handful of saved game editor questions recently, so I've merged these two topics into a main thread for all talk and questions about the saved game editor.

I was thinking maybe I could hex edit the DB, but wasn't sure if that would really mess things up. Was hoping there might be someone with experience.

Would it be safe to assume you're talking about your own name as a manager? If so, couldn't you just start a new game? ...Surely you haven't made it too far into the game before you noticed you spelled your own name wrong...? ;)

All I wanted to know was how the ratings work for the attributes. Are the rankings from 1-20, 1-100, 1-200, etc.

For most it seems 1-20, but there looks to be some inconsistencies with some of the attributes. If I wanted to give someone a 50% rating (ie 10 out of 20), I don't want to give the player the player a 10 if the ranking is out of 100.

Thanks.

Attributes range can be set to 1-20 or to 1-100. This is an option in game and the game converts the attribute value to range you chose in settings.
The editor uses 1-20 range.

I had my ratings set to 1-20, but when I go into the editor some of the ratings do not make sense.

Under the Player Attributes Tab here are some of the ratings:

Mental-Decsions (35)
Mental-Vision (37)
Physical-Hitting (240)
Physical-Fighting (214)
Technical-Deflections (255)
Technical-Positioning (239)
Technical- One on One (136)

Where are these ratings coming from and what is the range.

In the saved game editor, what is the maximum value for the fighting attribute and also what factors effect or determine that number?
I have noticed the fighting stats of Colton Orr=77 and Milan Lucic=51 allow them to win 100% of their fights. I have tried giving a player a fighting attribute of 70, 6'10" 277lbs and 20 strength but he still continues to loss his fights to Orr and Lucic. :dunno:

The attributes in the save game are on a relative scale. I've been trying to figure out the algorithm behind it but to no avail. It's somehow related to the player's current ability at least.

To follow my last post, I've been able to change some stats on certain players but they don't appear they way I modified them. :dunno:

For exemple I change Eberle to 16 in passing but it only appear as 12 but before he was at 8. :-?

You can't. Only with the Pregame editor.

In the saved game editor I have noticed that a lot of very young players have a of attributes in the 255 range, what does attributes in this range represent?
I have used the pre-game editor to edit some top prospects, ie. Taylor Hall but it seems the stats that are around the range of 7-9 show up to be 255 in the saved game editor, what I'm worried about is that when a player has (225,255, etc.) as an attribute, that means the value of that attribute will never rise. Am I right or wrong?

I never clearly knew but it's kinda mean that this attribute is completely random. So yes it means that he will suck more than he got chances to be good.

Hello guys,

I am having a problem with editing data with this utility. When I "Confirm" a change it gives me error message: "1.12.1982 is not valid date" and I am not trying to change birth date of a player at all....

Anyone with similar issue? Any help?

Thanks in advance

I know nobody replied to me earlier but I'm gonna ask it again. When I change some overall of a players, why does it not change in the game? I've been able to change the stamina of a guy but for exemple his faceoffs doesn't move, what the heck? Does this mean that if I change his faceoffs to 17 instead of 14, when he will start to develop his faceoff will stop at 17?? :dunno: :help:

I'm having the same problem. Any reason why it's doing that?
