EHM The Blue Line

I am very pleased to announce that the new site design for TBL will be live within approximately the next two weeks!

The new site not only looks a lot better but it's easier to navigate and to use. The User Profiles have been significantly improved and there are significant improvements for the TBL Challenges. There is a large number of other improvements (such as a new multi-quote function and Facebook integration) which I'll try to list once the site is released.

Work started on the site back in July/August 2009 (although we started planning back in June 2009). Ten months later and the first version of the new design is virtually ready to be uploaded. All that remains is for us to finalise the updated TBL logo and for some tweaks to be made so that it works properly on Internet Explorer.

The site is still a work in progress and so I will still continue to work on further improving site (there are still a number of big features I want to implement, such as users being able to upload Challenge stats directly to the site) and addressing any issues that crop up. Thus when the site goes online in the next two weeks or so, expect to come across possibly one or two mistakes or design oddities here or there. With the community's help, we'll be able to spot them and I can then put them right. I have however tested the site as much as I can on my offline test server.

Amen. I always felt that our current search button was a bit hidden and out of the way. The new search box should be a great help.

Nothing's foolproof, because fools are so ingenious, or whatever the saying goes. People would still be overlooking it if you painted it bright red and pointed a big arrow at it.

Sadly, you're right Círyatan.

The first thing we mods/admins needs to do when the new design is launched is to make a new image that shows how to perform a search like our old image.
