I moved this post here from the "Records Wanted"-thread as this seems to be site related and not record related.

Is this the case in all of the forums or just one in particular?

What browser are you using?

It's quite strange, I can post in the EHM Challenges area, but no other forums. I'm using Internet Explorer 8...

You're completely right. Dabo pointed out the same issue yesterday but assumed it was just a glitch with me giving him Mod permissions for the DHM Forum.

I've tried logging in with our Test User account (because I have Admin powers I can see and do things normal users can't - including being able to post in every forum). I can see that it looks like the Post New Topic button has disappeared from every forum apart from the DMHNL Forum and Challenge Forum. This kind of figures as they use a separate template from the other forums.

The forum permissions haven't changed so it must be something to do with the template. The weird thing is that it was working before and I haven't touched the template. :-? I'm going to look into it this evening and will get it fixed asap.

OK

Kudos to you archi, looks like you're on top of everything in regards to the forums. Keep up the good work.

Not a problem.

Try now. It looks as though I've fixed it.

It was because of a rogue exclamation point ("!") in the code from when I recently redesigned the header nav bar. It meant that the "post new topic" button was hidden when viewing with Internet Explorer.

Let me know if it's now working for you or whether it's still not working.

I think that exclamation mark should some how be instituted for anyone under 1639 posts. That way certain people cannot start new threads that are just old threads rehashed, or insane threads that make no sense. :-D /old man

Well then it might become a problem if that someone posts a lot and the total ends up becoming a few thousand no?
