Firstly if this has been posted before then sorry I did a quick search and couldnt see anything like it!

This October I will be travelling to Lativa and watching Dinamo Riga v Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod obviously of the KHL. This i am quite excited about as 1 Latvia loves hockey and 2 it will be the highest standard of hockey i have watched live. The previous title for best standard goes to the Manchester Storm of the old Superleague who i miss dearly, yes we now have the Manchester Phoenix but EPL hockey is well, abit dull and basically paying £15 a game to watch some kids play :nerd:

So thats my first hockey holiday, my orignial plan was to travel to Prague to see Boston Bruins but none of my friends bothered to sort out their passport so we cancelled that, so my ultimate aim after Latvia is to visit Boston and watch the Bruins at home.

You and your friends had to sort out your passports either way, don't you? OK, England is not in Schengen and both Czech and Latvia are. What's the difference between visiting Lavia and Czech, in terms of passports?

Ok I'll explain it, the Prague trip to see the Bruins would have been with my friends who have no passport and no other form of ID atall and can not be bothered to get it sorted :-x

Then my GF suggest we should go to Latvia on holiday, so obviously Dinamo Riga comes to my mind!

Sorry for the confusion :-D

I'm off to Belfast for the all stars v Bruins match and will stay over and take in Giants v Panthers the next night. Should be good weekend. I went to the NHL games in London in 07 which was good experience. Would like to take in some games in the continent. Ideally a long weekend in Germany watch some football and ice hockey and try some local beer. Now that you mention Riga it may be a worthwhile trip as it is quite easy for me to get a flight over there so maybe also worth thinking about. Would love to go to Canada and see some hockey though I imagine ver hard to get tickets for Canadian NHL team. I have aspirations of living in Canada and will maybe give it a go if I cannot get a good job here in next couple years. Would quite like to try British Columbia.

Sounds good, I was hoping to make the Bruins in Belfast but cant! and the Giants v Panthers should be an interesting game also 8-) Im still hoping for the NHL to visit the M.E.N Arena too, its big enough and saves a trip to London next time they are there haha, as for Riga and travelling to it, it cost just under £450 in total for a week for me and my GF, and I head that tickets to the Dinamo game are about $20 for the 'better seats' so it seems like a great deal!
