EHM The Blue Line

Now that the site is up and running smoothly, we'd like to know what you'd like to see added or changed to the site.
We want to make TBL the best site there is for NHL: EHM but we can only do that with your help: How can this site be improved?
All comments and suggestions are welcome.

In the forums is it possible we could be able to edit our posts :

In the Forums as well, could u add a link back to the main site, or have the forums open in a new window : I know it is only something small and isnt too difficult to navigate but it'd be nice, other than that it's good

Great site, I've downloaded most content which is excellent. KUTGW.

Could you change the listing order in the files section so that the newest is always at the top of the screen? Currently it's a real pain to have to scroll down just to find the latest uploaded file. Thanks.

OK, here's my plan so far:
1) The forums will open in a new window when you click on the link in the main site;
2) A link to the main site in the forum (this will be added when Octavian comes back in a week or so - he knows how to program our forum);
3) The ability to sort the files either by name or by date. I'll ask Octavian how I can implement this when he's back from his hols.

I'm not sure about the ability to edit posts - it could be open to abuse. I'll have a think about this one. Can anyone persuade me one way or the other? :

In theory a user could make a really abusive post, someone could report it but then the offending user could edit out the offensive material.
Tbh, the group of people on this forum seem to be a nice lot and I can't imagine anyone doing such a thing. I'll enable the editing and I'll remove it if there's any abuse or hint of such abuse.
I'll do it when I get back from my driving lesson. There's a small file and cool pics update to do this evening as well. I'm too poor to go to the pub tonight. :lol:

Agreed. I think we might take on another mod if the forum reaches around 75. At the moment that looks a little too ambitious. I'm a little worried that not many more people will join this forum with the likes of FHockey, etc.
If anyone knows other people who like EHM, spread the word (get them to join these forums) - but don't spam anyone's forums, etc.

Also I have noticed you are getting over one new signup a day on average to these forums

The forum link on the main site opens the link in a new window.
I'll try to sort out a link to the main site from the forum tomorrow.

Also FHockey isn't half as good for NHL:EHM as this site and I find it a bit difficult to navigate

I'm looking into adding an option in the downloads section so that the files can be sorted either by name or by date.
I'm trying to find a php script that'll do it. Also, it would be good to have an easier way to add the files' details rather than having to do it in html.

its just my opionion and i hope you dont mind some constructive comments?

1 - i think its important to get a good balance of articles, graphics, tactics etc. the hot spot for me would be the graphics side as i think it pulls people in and gets them coming back for more.

2 - how about an idiots guide to playing the game?

3 - a player data base where people can just come along and have a look through.
eg.
Name:
D.O.B:
Nationality:
club:
position:
contract expiry:
rating: (out of 5 or 10?)
A photo maybe?

and 1-2 paragraphs on why the player is good and what his strenghts and best features are.

4 - a link back to the home page from the forum?

In response to your comments, Strawberry:
1) We're always working on adding more graphics - Devils88 is working on a couple of facepacks and I'm working on a number of background packs. Our current weakness is the lack of articles - I might have a go at writing one or two. If anyone else wants to write an article or has already done so then e-mail myself or Octavian and we'll put it on the site.
2) Maybe - it could go in the guides section (see above comments).
3) Octavian is working on this as we speak. We just need to decide what we want to keep in the database - your suggestions are pretty good.

Id like some more smilies (especially some funny moving ones) if it's possible

I guess I'll post here rather than start a new topic - Could someone add the date of the latest file upload to the download section. I know that each file tells you in its details but it would be good to see it from the menus.

What I mean is that yesterday there were 80 files, today 83. I know that the WHL/OHL rinks were two additions because I found them, but I don't want to have to look at all 81 others to find the one I haven't already got. If there was a date on the menus I could just go to the one section with today's date.

Minor point I know, but one that would bother me. Thanks

For the record the other file was my UK logo rinks which I'd forgotten to add.

Good suggestion though, and we're looking into a solution
