Wolverine Studio's Faceoff Hockey 2010 has today been released! To purchase the game or download the demo click here.

As we all know, this is solely a single sim game. In other words, it doesn't have the multiple season career mode like EHM does. So at this stage don't expect it to be a replacement for EHM. However it has been announced that Brian van Wyk at Wolverine Games will be implementing a career mode in a future version (there is no confirmation yet whether it will be the next version or a subsequent one).

Here is a run down of the feature list:
  • The most realistic game engine in hockey simulation gaming!
  • Multiplayer league play
  • Single-player or Multi-player Replay ability
  • Define your own coaching strategies
  • Create your own teams
  • Improved schedule generation
  • Reports for current and past seasons
  • New optional rules for increased customization of game play
  • Import and Export wizards - no more copying directories
  • Players rated using the time-tested Faceoff system
  • Control the intesity level of your team during play
  • Ability to store players who have never been officially rated and associate them with a team
  • New shootout engine
  • Game play now on one screen - no more jumping between screens
  • Coaching strategies now assigned to specific games - no more guesswork in applying the correct strategy
  • In game tools for tracking player usage
  • All reports and boxscores generated in HTML for easy posting to league website
