I drafted Grayson Gardner (ed belfour regen) 5th overall. he is already a good goalie as you can see here

but imo not yet ready for the NHL. And i have Chris Mason as starter and i think he has one or two more years left in him.
So i sent him to the juniors and hes doing very well there, but now he said that he feels that i treated him unfairly and requested a trade. WHY? does he really expect to be in the NHL? I mean of course i could have made him my backup but i thought its better for everyone if he plays in the ohl and get some icetime than sitting on the bench....

Are you sure he's unhappy with YOU?
If he's in the OHL and stating he's unhappy with a teammate or GM or coach or something... that would probably be applicable to his OHL players and staff, and not your NHL team or you.
Just a thought.

well, yea he never said he is unhappy with me.
"he feels that he has been treated unfairly"
But actually i am the only one that could treat him unfairly. He was the starter in every game so i dont think he has a problem with the coach.

my fear is that, this "unhappines" could lead to him disliking me, what would be a problem when i try to offer him a new contract.
My hope is that he will be better than mason in the next two years, so i could start him

Unless he has you as a disliked staff, I wouldn't sweat it.

If you promised him a regular or core player role on the team and then send him down to juniors, he could react a bit upset.

If he's a prospect playing in juniors and wants a trade, he's not talking about you. He's not talking about his junior team...
