Following the trade of Petr Sykora to the Rangers the Ducks have recalled both Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry to the "Big Club". The dynamic duo of highly drafted youngsters has been tearing up the minors with Portland of the AHL both averaging around 2 points per game. Getzlaf had 23 points in 11 games in December. Perry has averaged 1.79 points per game.

In their first game back with the club they both got 10-12 minutes of icetime including around three minutes on the power play. Getzlaf was also used on the PK. The first goal of the game, just after 5 minutes gone in the first period was by Getzlaf and Perry drew an assist.

With the continued excellent play by Andy McDonald (another 1g1a night bringing him to 13g16a on the year) and the addition of these two it will be interesting to see how the team does. Factor in the Federov trade and the current team certainly has a very different look to it than the one they began the year with.

What about Jonathan Hedström's hat-trick? ;)

No, I don't like him very much. :)

Losing vs the caps doesnt inspire much hope, that they can catch up to 8th seed oilers who they are trailing by 7 points atm, but have 2 games in hand though.
