Hello everyone, it has been way too long since the last blog entry I know. First of all I would like to say that I had something else planned for my 2nd blog entry, but I like this one better.

As many already now I am not alone on this project anymore, jatahati is now a part of the team. Since he joined we have mostly been looking over the already existing code as well as the database structure. In a project consisting of more than one developer planning and communication proves even more important; if this is done in a bad manner a team of two developers are necessarily not progressing any faster than one working alone. This is why we are gonna do this right and plan everything from day one so that we can parallelice the work as much as possible. Right now we may progress slowly because of all the administration in the beginning but I am confident that we will pick up significant speed once this is completed. Bear in mind though, both of us have this as a hobby project thus we are not working full-time on this.

To get into some more details regarding what we are doing now I can say that it is mostly database related. We have decided to complete a first "real" version of the database structure as fast as possible in order for a small group of selected people from the public to start getting their hands dirty populating the database. The first iteration may include data such as nations, cities/towns, states/provinces. Stay tuned for more information.

Finally, this blog entry was first going to be about the player and staff member creator but it has been pushed forward. I can mention a few things though, players will either be created from scratch or share some data with a retired player, for example, nationality and region of birth, skater or goalie etc. Our vision is also to implement some type of relationship between players, for example a created player in year 2015 (15 years old) can possibly have a son (or twins) created year 2040. More on this later.

That is all for now, take care.
