I am here today to tell you my story this will be just like a little diary in what i will be writing my story as a General Manager of a hockey team.
First of all i will start of by telling you the story from the start, wich is actualy what everyone would do.
I am sorry about my english writing, im in Gatineau, QUEBEC side where we all speak french, anyhow here it is.
If you guys want more, please reply and tell me so. Also any comments or suggestion would be appreciated !




My Name is Marc-André, I was born in Ottawa tought i now live in Gatineau just across the river from Ottawa.
My NHL career starting of with one phone call from a friend of mines dad, the dad is in fact Alain Vigneault Head Coach of the Vancouver Canucks.
He was calling me a saturday morning to give me good news,


"Ring,Ring,Ring ..."

Me: Uhhhh, Hello ??

Alain: Hi Marc ...

Me: Who is this, do you know its 5:30 in the morning ?

Alain: Yea and i have great news for you ...

Me: Ok well ... who is this ??

Alain: Oh sorry, I am so excited for you that i forgot to answer. Its Alain !!

Me: Oh ... hmmm, hmmm, I dont remember you ever calling me this early in the morning ... What is it ?

Alain: Well Marc, do you remember yesterday when you came for dinner here ?

Me: Yea ...

Alain: Well you know last week Bob Gainey Resigned from the Montreal Canadiens right ?

Me: No Really .... yea i know, Everybody knows ... just end with the suspence and just tell what you have to say !!

Alain: Ok then ... i talked with Mr.Molson about you and he owed me a favor, so you have got an interviews with him this
afternoon ...

Me: Uhhhh .... Ohhhhh ... Well ... uhmmmmmm .... First tell me how you talked him into having me 'A Nobody' to have me in
an interviews for a Head Coach spot.

Alain: First of all, this is not for the Head Coach spot, this is for the General Manager spot. Second i told him all the things
you told me you would do if you were General Manager of the team And he loved it. He actually thinks your a genius.

Me: Well you know he aint wrong right ...?? Ahahah, All right what time is the interview ?

Alain: 13 O'clock, i will be waiting for you at the Bell Centre. Dont be Late.

Me: No worry's im not gonna F**k this up. Thanks.


Can you guys beleive this, is this really happening ...? Man what the hell am i gonna put on for the interview !?!
I am broke and the only thing i have to wear is some Ecko and Rocawear cloths. Oh well i guess it will have to do.


7:30 - Son and wife wakes up


Me: Honey guess what ?

Wife: What is it, you look in a good mood !? Did you take your fever i think your sick !!

Me: Ahah ... No im ok, i have an interview with Mr.Molson this afternoon at 13 o'clock.

Wife: Mr.Who ? Moslon ... No,no,no your not gonna be part of that stuff are ya ... those are the guys who spend their nights
in bars drinking Molson ex right ? NO WAY !!!

Me: uh ... ooooookk ... no Hun, its the owner of the Montreal Canadiens, he might give me a shot at the General Manager of the team ..

Wife: Oh ... so .... your gonna be gone 6 to 8 months a year ... hurray ... how much will that pay ?

Me: Enough to keep you happy ... well i hope !!

wife: how much is that !?

Me: Depends on the contract lenght ... could range from 500K a year to 2-3 million a year ... but i doubt it will be more then a million a year !!

Wife: A Million a Fu**ing year, Holy S**T well see you later hunny dont miss the interview now !!


12:30 - Arrival at the Bell Centre


Alain: Wow, Your early.

Me: I just wanted to enjoy the time here an hour more then expected, just in case Mr.Molson would not accept me !!

Alain: No worrys, i am pretty sure your in !!

Me: Thanks.


13 o'clock - Mr.Molson Office

Molson: Hi Marc

Me: Hi Mr.Moslon, How are you today !?

Molson: Now marc, it isnt complicated, Do you see this time here ?

Me: Sure i do, it says 5 Minutes ...

Moslon : Well thats the amount of time you have to impress me !

Me: Oh well, thats a bit to much, Herei have made a big plan for you to see, take your time sir, you have 5 minutes to read
it.

5 Minutes Later ...

Molson: Well Marc ... I Dont Know ...

Me: What is it, Dont you like the idea ...

Molson: That the Problem, I Love the ideas in this plan, but you didnt give me enought time to read it, what shall i do !?

Me: Well Mr.Molson, You gave me 5 Minutes to Impress you the thing is i didnt need 5 Minutes to Impress you, i just needed
5 seconds to hand you over the plans. Now would you like to continue on and read the rest of the plans !?

Moslon: Well, I would love to but i am short on time ...

Me: Well here is my plan so you can read the rest of the plan ... as a mather a fact, you could probably live them instead

Molson: Go Ahead

Me: 2 Years 850,000 A year ... I Win a stanley cup in one of those two years i want 1.750.000$ per year for 2 more years. If
i win two stanley cups in two years i get a whooping 3.500.000 per year for 2 more years.

Molson: For the first two years i cant give you 850.000 a year ... Im short on money here friend ...

Me: hmmmm ... Ok i will take 500.000 a year for two years.

Molson: DEAL !!

Moslon: Here is the contract, Sign here, here, here and here.

Molson: Welcome to the Montreal Canadiens !!

Me: Well Thanks, and you wont regret it.

After just a couple of days i called Mr.Molson and asked him permission to do a cleanup in the staff departement.


Me: Hi Mr.Moslon, this is marc

Moslon: Yes Marc, Do you have a questions ?

Me: Actually no, i need your permission for something ...

Molson: I am very open to proposition, What is it ?

Me: I need to make big changes in our staff departement.

Moslon: Ok, Go Ahead you have my permission, but this better be good !!

Me: Thank you sir, no worry's you are about to have one of the best team in the world here.




After that phone call i went to work.


First call ; Assistant Coach's

Pierre Groulx, Mario Leblanc, Kirk Muller & Perry Pearn Were all fired, we need new blood in this team.


Second call ; Assistant GM

Pierre Gauthier Was fired


Third call ; Head Coach

Jaques Martin was fired


Last call ; Scouts

Fired most of my scouts and hired 4 more, this gives me a total of 6 scouts. I dont need more, i can see potential in player's myself, no need for more help. WASTE OF MONEY.



After this was done Mr.Moslon called me and told me i was firing to much staff members who were valuable to the team.
I Told him not to worry since the free spots will be filled by highly competent man's who only want's to win the cup, not just finish 8th place every year.




Once we hung up the phones, i felt he still had his doubt's on what i was doing, so i went and hired some staff to replace those guys i fired a couple of days before.
Now, Mr.Molson was in for a pleasent surprise.



After doing a couple of interviews for the Head coach job, I Finally decided to hire Larry Robinson.
I Hired Wayne Gretzky as an Assistant GM.
For the Assistant Coach's here is the list of Man i have Hired ; Glen Hanlon, Bob Hartley, Ted Nolan, Greg Poss & Michel Therrien.



A New Era Has begun in Montreal, The Marc-Andre Lavoie & Larry Robinson Era !!

(I Had already done 2 years when i started the blog)

Two years have now passed, and i have won two stanley cups.

Me: Thats a 100% victory rate you know, i remember talking to youtwo years ago and saying this ; "If
i win two stanley cups in two years i get a whooping 3.500.000 per year for 2 more years."
I think i deserve it, Dont you ?

Molson: I Remember, and guess what ?

Me: What ... ?

Moslon: That contract was ready since last year ..... Sign here, here, here & here !!

Me: Thanks, and now i am back to work ... i have to go get a new center, we are missing one and i dont feel our AHL players are ready for the NHL yet !!

Moslon: Now go !!!
