EHM The Blue Line

GM Bob Gainey has fired coach Claude Julien, making him the third and latest coach to be shown the door.

Gainey will become coach himself until the end of the year but has brought in Guy Carbonneau to be an assistant coach for that amount of time. He is contracted through to become the head coach for next season.

Heard about this the other day, I doubt Julien will be out of the NHL picture for long.

While I liked Julien, and he was a good coach, it had become pretty clear that the Habs had quit on him. Especially Jose Theodore, whom Julien never really liked anyway.

Bring on coach Carbonneau, I loved him as a player and look forward to seeing him behind the bench.
