Official NHL Off-Season Thread 2011

Well the season is over and I think that we can start the off-season thread! :joy:

The Wings have announced that Lidstrom signed a 1 year deal. I'm sure at 41 years old he still can be usefull but I think it's gonna be his last season.

Mtl signed Pacioretty to a two year deal. He will earn 1.5 his first season and 1.75 the second one. Good small deal but if in those two years he becomes a key player to the team, they absolutely need to sign to a long term contract.

Carter/Columbus deal done apparently. Source is Kirk Luedeke, extremely credible (usually) media guy from Boston.

Which doesn't mean it's not already agreed upon, which was all I said. The Kelly deal to Boston was done a week before it was announced.

Yeah but old fart rants are generally predictable anyway :D

What?!? I hope not after the horrible performances he got in the playoffs. Philly will never learn with goalie.....

As far as I know, that's not true. From the Flyers' Twitter a couple hours ago:
Holmgren: "We are continuing to try and reach an agreement with Ilya, but it is safe to say that we are not close to achieving this.”

Yeah I think Friedman and Kypreos had that on their twitter earlier and Friedman confirmed his "information" on the radio tonight but said nothing is gonna be made official until July 1st anyway due to salary tagging issues.

Skinner deserves the Calder for sure. Bylsma, even if I would've prefered Trozt, deserve to win the Jack because of what he done without Malkin and Crosby. Lidstrom with the Norris again, mehh. :thdn: He maybe deserved it but as a Wings hater....

Hahah :-p Perry won the Hart! Wasn'T expecting this one but I'm happy for him! =D>

Friedman and Kypreos are not from Boston. No way they could be right so far ahead of time. :-D

Gillis looks way better in that picture...that's what Mrs Gillis said anyway!!

Not surprised Perry won the Hart...well deserved. He basically got the Ducks into the playoffs all by himself. Danny (Daniel-not that Bruins fan) would only have won it had he done what he did with Henrik injured. Like how Henrik won it last year.

They need to move some cap before they can announce the deal. Versteeg and Carle could land in Florida since they are about 30 million under the cap floor.

Surpsrisingly the Panthers are actually going to be somewhat interesting this summer. :-D
They have eight players (+ Reinprecht, don't know what's going on with him at this point, does anyone else have anything on his situation?) on one-way contracts, so there's going to be some action there. Tallon is sure going to have a busy summer. :-)

Even if Kesler himself hasn't confirmed the groin injury, the awards show last night did. Did anyone else see how gingerly he walked up to the podium to get the Selke? Dude is injured for sure.
