Riz Remes and EHM future

Hi, is there anyone who is sometime looking on official sigames forum about EHM? I just found that there is one interesting forum topic, where even Riz Remes is answering questions about EHM's future... and he said that new version for him is not if, but when...

Yes, time is an issue unfortunately and your estimate of an ETA is probably quite right. There is never enough time. But hey, good things come to those who wait. The Rangers only had to wait 54 years for their next Stanley Cup after 1940.
I've always kept my personal hopes up that one day we'll be able to do another EHM in one for or another. To me it's more a question of "when" than if, even if the timescale might be a big unknown.

The old freeware EHM was written in Visual Basic and although I still have the code on my old dev machine and it probably still compiles on that one, I've never even looked back at that code at any stage as a starting point for something new. The old freeware basically was a "test" project that started out as a simple engine to simulate and do a play-by-play on one game between two hardcoded teams, then it got some stats tracking added to it. And from there it grew by bolting new bits on the side of the engine, resulting eventually in the freeware game. However due to the origins of the project and the general shoddiness of the original code, it basically just came to the end of the road where it could not be improved upon anymore without a total rewrite.
As you've probably noticed the FM Handheld version has been just released for iPad as well, and this sort of platform (aside from iPhone/iTouch) is something that personally interests me quite a lot. And considering both EHM and FMH share a similar of background of being kind of "FM lite", this might be an avenue to look into some day. Like I said before, it's more a question of time really and currently I'm just a bit short on that myself.
