why the f%^& can't I advance a day?
excuse my language but its very aggrivating

stupid answer: press spacebar.
Or navigate back several times. You left some unconfirmed view open. Every view that has "Confirm" or "Cancel" option must be closed using these two options.

Just to add a little here, you may have left either the practice screen or the scouting screen open and accidentally navigated away from it.
