Is it worth getting the latest Patch?

Is it? I don't play EHM as often as FM so the release of a new patch is not necessarily an automatic download for me. What will it add to my game experience....:dunno: c'mon, sell it to me d:

well if you have ehm 2005 by default without any patches it is teh 04/05 season. however get the 2.1.1 patch/upgrade and it will be the 05/06 season and then get the latest 2.1.3 patch. This should get rid of most bugs in the game. It only takes a couple of minutes to install them and pretty worth it.

Any future downloads that become available are more likely to be compatable to be compatable with the latest patch. For instance the unfaking database.

Due to the amount of issues the SI team addresses in each of it's patches I suggest updating as soon as they are released. The roster projects will all work with the most recent patch as will any current saved games (though with any patch to get the fullest benefit you should start a new game, some things only occur at the biginning of a season for example).

Of course anyone who wants to play in the Challenges needs to have their game fully updated too ;)

If you want to know what's changed SI posts exhaustive point-by-point changelists of issues addressed in each patch release.

Here is the full list for 2.1.3:

How can I tell if the Smetana rosters are operational...? I have installed the new patch and I copied back the Smetana version of the 'extra_config Microsoft whatever' file into the database. What can I check in-game to make sure that the Smetana rosters are working? 04/05 stats? :dunno:

Check to see what leagues you have. Can you find the Central Hockey League or United Hockey Leauge. They were called the AAL-3 and AAL-4 in the unfaked game. Also, take a look at an NHL team's arena name - do you have the real name or something like the Anaheim Arena or Boston Arena, etc?

Yeah I've been trying to download the patch for weeks to put on the TBL server. Whenever I've tried both SI and Susie it would start off fairly fast and then grind to a halt halfway through. Neither of those sites seem to have particularly reliable servers. :dunno:

I love SI, but there official fileserver system is a freaking nightmare ](*,) the only way I ever get it to work is to trick it into starting the download instead of just endlessly refreshing the file page... you have to try and catch it when you can right-click on one of the download links and get it to 'save the target as' or you can sit there with the thing refreshing non stop all day. It's the worst downloading system I've ever seen, anywhere. I wish somehow you could just go to a page, click a link and wait like every other fileserver in the world... they're not driving ads like other download sites to make the refreshing and new pages before you can get a download to begin necessary, so what is the point of not having direct download links? I've never understood it...

Yeah, sorry that was really stupid asking how to identify the rosters were operational (considering I have had them for mnths with 2.1.2). I am getting the 2.1.3 on the title bar of the game, and the rosters are working...but I had to replace the 2.1.3 default database with my archived version of the Smetana db....So now what I am asking is, how can I check that the patch is working-what is the most obvious change to check for?

Run EHM and go to the Settings Screen. Just below the titlebar it will say what version of the game you're running.

If you installed the patch then you'll be fine. Overwriting the database won't affect the version you're running or the bug fixes made by the patch :)
