Unfake version 2 is now available here.

Perhaps Kidhander could possibly tell us what has changed in this version?

Sure...a detailed list is impossible but what's changed is:

- Rosters up to date to 24/12/2005 for all playable leagues
- Some minor unfaking (i mean some clubs for histories and a bunch of euro guys)
- Russian Superleague update with players' ratings revisited

New version of unfaking/data update is is in the works.
What is new :
- all/some transaction/retirements till Olympic break for major leagues.
- updated injuries
- fixed/ updated rookies that had no chance with the current ratings (like Labda,Ovechkin,Prucha,Lundqvist)
- removed NHL rights from veteran European players that still had them.Re-checked all NHL teams for unsigned prospects/veterans.
- updated some players positions. So teams like Carolina now have more players capable of playing RW and not just two.

Database should be read in a week.Might release a beta if there is interest from people to test it.

I've removed the posts about the confusion. To clear this up once and for all:

Unfake v1
Corrects fake names. Makes some minor adjustments to some rookies' ability and potential ratings. This is the roster used in the Challenges.

Unfake v2 and v3
Based on Unfake v1. This contains much more extensive attribute alterations.

Thanks to KH for helping me clear this up

Say I want to have the Smetana rosters for one EHM game and the new unfaking for a different career game how can I switch between databases easily? I am sure that somebody posted something along the lines of 'running multiple databases' somewhere but i can no longer find it...

The only sections (and it is done by section only) that are set to be no edit are Challenge and Fantasy Hockey though, so there should be an edit option here. :-?

We are torn between making or not making a trade deadline update. Help us stating your opinion

Yes, do  Although I could do with having Roloson to trade with at the start...:-k

How about a version with the updated trades, but not your guys' updated stats?

Because in this case we'd need to start with a fresh new db and we'll have to redo too many things already done

Yes I would love a trade deadline update. Just put the players and draft picks onto the right teams and that would be great!

For that you will have to take unfaking version 1 and redo all the trades/signings/contracts since october 2005.
My idea for the next version was to update a few of the "old" stars like Czerkawski who are FAR too good in the game (as his stats are based from the last full season he played).
Do not expect a HUGE stats update as 90% of the stats are superb.the only problem as now are some rookies and some veterans who are still scoring like mad in some leagues and get signed back to NHL at the age of 35-38....
