After the NHL-Season 2005-06, the League were in much Financial Problems, so Commisoner Gary Bettman decided to close down the NHL and every Player was released by their Teams(I used the Eastside Free Agents Utility)!
After some Months, the remaining 17 Club-Owners decided to build a new Organisation for professional Hockey - The North American Hockey Association (NAHA). The League consisting of 8 Canadian Teams and 22 American Teams, are separated in 2 Conference (West and East) and 6 Divisions (North East, Atlantic, South East – North West, Central and South West).
The Divisons with Teams:
North East: Buffalo Americans, Maine Whalers, Ontario Bulls, Quebec Nationales, Toronto Thunder
Atlantic: Boston IceMen, Indiana Generals, New Jersey Rattlers, New York Metropolitans, Philadelphia Revolution
South East: Florida Spartans, Nashville IceBreakers, Ohio Stars, Pittsburgh Surge, Washington Patriots
North West: Alaska Oil Kings, Alberta Grizzlies, Edmonton Rush, Portland Lumberjackx, Vancouver Millionaires
Central: Chicago Night Hawks, Michigan Pirates, Minnesota Wildcats, Saskatoon Buzzsaws, Winnipeg Turbos
South West: Alabama Slammers, California Eagles, Nevada Gamblers, San Jose Hammerheads, Texas Outlaws
The Alaska Oil Kings struggled all Season long and ended it with 25 Points(11 Wins, 68 Loss and 3 OT-Loss/95 Goals(last in League), 291 GA, 4,7% Powerplay and 82,6 % Penalty-Killing(both last in League). So their President Scott Potter released GM Lance Nethery from his Duties on April,3rd. After 5 Days of Searching, they found in 36 Year old-Canadian Dean Scott their new General Manager. He only played some Years in Junior Hockey and coached his Son´s Hockey Team.
Now his Duties are to build up a new Team, that have slightly the Chance to make the Playoffs in 2 or 3 Years and develop some of newer acquired Talents into NHL Players.
April/May/June Recap
