Theodore is a franchise goaltender, and with the Av's haveing quite a few good young talent already on the roster, and quite a few more that will be ready in a few years (Wolski) haveing Theodore in net means its just one more thing they won't have to woryr about down the line.

If Theo regains his form its a steal for Colorado in the long run. In the short run Montreal wins this trade handily

This might become a huge steal for the Avs. But at the moment, I'd give the edge to Montreal.

That's how I feel about it too... I also think it could as easily go the other way as I get a feeling that Aebi's problems are more just based on lack of experience as Colorado backups didn't exactly log big playing time when that was his role and nothing substitutes for game experience. I'd expect as he matures and settles into the role he could carry a team as he didn't exactly do a bad job so far. It's Theodore I worry about though, he's played four full years and then he comes back and is a disaster... to me it reminds me of pitchers that all of a sudden "lose their stuff" and go from being an ace to not being able to even get the ball to the plate anymore. The positions share a similar mentality/role/pressure and I question if he will regain elite form. That's why I think Aebi is a much lower risk. :dunno:

It kind of reminds me of the Roy deal, just to a lesser degree.
