Did you exit the game and then reload it without applying both the CSD and ArtMoney? You must apply both when reloading a saved game until you reach the dates detailed in the readme file.

I did reload with ArtMoney but it is possible I forgot the CSD part. I'll try again and see if that was the reason.

EDIT: That worked. Seems like I forgot to also use CSD when using ArtMoney - used both now and passed October 1 without problems! Thanks for the help! :notworthy:

Im not sure if I should continue to be patient or something went wrong.. I loaded the patch, installed the patch before starting a new franchise and clicked on all leagues. on February 1st I patched it again just incase however I am at February 3rd 2007 and still haven't seen the date change. I have Windows 7, when I applied the patch no errors showed up. I didn't install Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (or higher), I didnt think i need to? I installed the other file though. Should I be waiting until July 1st 2007 to see the change or did I do something wrong?

Thank you.

Ps. yes I have the 3.04 patch installed.

The first thing to try is installing .Net Framework 4. I'm not sure where you've read it isn't needed - I listed it as a minimum requirement in the readme file and on TBL. :-?

If it still isn't working then try this: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 01#p133201

You will see the change in start date when you click on the New Game screen. If it doesn't start in the correct year at the beginning then it's not going to (the game won't suddenly jump from 2007 to 2011 in game).

How did you get it to work?

Are you applying the Patch each time you reload your saved game?

Great and amazing work being done here by the community... and still so many years after the game was released is a great tribute to both the quality of the game and the dedication of many of the users here. So, that is my brief thank you.

Question concerning the CSD Patch, which I wasn't able to find a definitive answer on searching through the Forums (but it's possible I could have missed it).

In order for the CSD Patch to work do you need to have the game installed in the default directory or hard drive?

I have the game installed in a custom named folder on D:\ rather than C:\... will that prevent the patch from even launching? ("an error has occurred with this program" before anything else appears)

I already am running in Win 7 (64-bit) as Admin (also tried XP SP3 Comp. Mode), have C++2010 Dist and .NET Frame 4 installed, 3.0.4 installed.

ArtMoney also doesn't launch at all, btw.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark - Welcome to The Blue Line! Thank you for your kind words. :)

It doesn't matter where you install EHM. So long as you place the CSD Patch in the same folder as your ehm2007.exe and you run the Patch with the 'Run as Admin' option (if you're using Windows Vista / 7) then it'll work fine.

Just to make sure. When I'm playing Czech Elite Hockey League I must run CSD everytime before I start game and set it on 2011 till 1st Feb and then still keep opening it before starting game but set it on year which is currently my season? Sorry didn't played EHM for long time and totally forgot what to do with CSD :D

No, you just apply until the 1st Feb. Then after that date, do not use the Patch any more to reload your game (just load EHM like normal instead).

Moving forward with the patch, in some release I'd like to be able to set the default for the start year in the patch. Right now it's 2011. Next season, we'll want it to start with 2011. I can see people forgetting to change that year when they run the patch each time.

Heh I'm way ahead of you!

The Patch detects what the current date is (according to your computer's / Windows' clock) and then sets the default start date accordingly. If I remember rightly, the default start date changes every 1st September (or it might be August - I can't remember off the top of my heard). So on the 1st September 2012, the default will be 2012.

If anybody else has any further feedback on how to make the Patch easier to use, etc then please do let me know as I'm keen to make it as accessible as possible (and in order to comply with the Batdad / CeeBee seal of approval for ease of use! :D ).

:-D Not very often I get mentioned in the same sentence as batdad. I have not tried the patch yet as I was sorta waiting for the updated WHL to play and now I'm testing/playing the 1974 db. :) I will get around to it soon tho :)

Thanks for the reply, I'll give it another try, but I must have something else going on and preventing that from working. I'll let you know if I figure it out.

YEp. You have to load the game using the patch. Not the game itself until Feb 1 of the year. After Feb 1 don't load the game through the patch. Every time you have to do it this way.

heya.. i downloaded the Try and Buy version and installed the 4.0.3patch + manibal 4.1b + CDS and the windows stuff that are required..
The CDS patch starts the game succesful but when i try to start a game(when i press ok after chosing database) i crash out to windows. If i start a game without CDS i can choose database but then im stuck at 2006.. Any tips how to get it to work?

1. The version of Windows you are using (and ideally whether it is 32 or 64 bit).
Vista(dunno if its 32 or 64..)

2. The version of EHM you are using (i.e. v3.0.3, v3.0.4, etc).
3.0.4

3. The edition of EHM you are using (eLicense or CD-ROM).
eLicense

4. If you receive any warning/error messages in the Patch window, please provide a complete copy of the messages you receive.
None..

5. Specific details of what the problem is. It’s not enough to say simply that it crashes! I need to know at what point in-game it crashes and anything you clicked on that resulted in the crash.

Hi Vieu - welcome to The Blue Line! :-)

It sounds like you're running the Patch exactly as it ought to be used. Perhaps you're right - maybe it's not compatible with the six month demo (because the demo is designed to cut-out in mid 2006). I don't know if anybody has tried with the demo before.

Try using this file instead: https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?ci ... 29C5C5!280

To use it, start up EHM so that you are at the main menu screen (where you have the buttons for New Game / Delete Game/ etc). Then load the file linked to above (load it with the 'Run as admin' option because you're using Vista). Once this has loaded, it will say that the patch has been applied. You can close the file and then click on New Game in EHM to get your new game started. If that doesn't work then it's probably because you're using the demo (but I can't say for 100% sure).

The 3.0.4 patch is installed, I'm opening EHM with the CSD Patch, but still it crashes on May 25th.

Is there any other solution or this game is lost?
I'm afraid it sounds like the game is lost. The most likely cause is that you inadvertently forgot to apply the Patch one time (because 25th May is one of the Patch critical dates if you have Finland / Russia selected). If you can upload your saved game to an online host (e.g. SkyDrive or Yousendit) then I can take a look at it because I have one or two ideas - but I think it's very likely it is lost.

Thanks, that's probably where the issue comes from. I did not know that I had to do it each time with the CSD patch. I thought it was only at the beginning. I also had the problem on Feb 28th, opened it with CSD and everything was fine. But on the May 25th... Dead.

I'll restart!!!
