Injury help

Post by 15kennyschamp15 »

I have had a few players on my team get injured and i got a report for the injury and on one of them it says that i should consider giving the player an acupuncture treatment and i was wondering how i do this or how in full i can use a physiotherapist.

If player is injured still, there will be a Send to Rehab line to click on the bottom left of the players profile page. If he is not currently injured, you will have to wait until the player is hurt again.

Sometimes they just seem to pile up all at once. :dunno:

All I can say is, make sure you have three physios (or trainers, as they're known in American English) and don't practice them too intensely all the time. And let them rest fully before putting them back into the lineup.

Other than that, it's all about luck and player's injury proness.

I'm in my second season with the Coyotes and have just started February. Upto yet i've had the following injuries:

Jokinen: 2 months
Doan: 1 month
Jovanovski: 1 month
Carcillo: 3 weeks
Fedoruk: 3 weeks
Frogren: 3 weeks
Bryzgalov: 2 weeks
Meuller: 2 weeks

Add to that a few players missing the odd game here and there. Its been a nightmare!

Doan missed 2 games when he got a SNAKEBITE during a game in Vancouver!! =D>

I tried to play once without any injuries but it became boring because only the teams with a top goalie would go deep into the playoffs and the season became pretty predictable.

In the last competition i edited the injuries setting every long term injury to the half duration. Still it is more challenging (and to me more fun) if your starting goalie is out for the full season and you try to push your backup to his best performance. :-)

Injuries--Mass amounts of them as said before...means you need to change how you play your best players and your amount of intensity in practice...maybe both or just one of those. Have to be careful. Profile page of player sometimes says needs a rest even if at 95% or higher. Usually top line guys get this, and should skip a practice or two.

Also, watch how you run your lines...overload can tire out the top line easy...it is not just rolling 1-2-3...it almost works 1-2-1-3-2-4-1-2-3-

So 1st line gets alot of extra shifts out of overload. If you play em on pp and pk too...they will be exhausted, and often have played 25 minutes by end of 2nd period.

Some injuries cannot be avoided..they just happen. Other times, guys get hurt cause you are overusing them.

I usually have a few injuries at the start of each game, when I switch them to a bit tougher practice routines. It seems like they are not used to it at first, and they have issues staying at 100% form, then they get into the routine after few weeks.

I should have added that i used a HEX-Editor to edit the injury.dat file. It's not possible to edit injuries with the pre game or the saved game editor. :-)

I think that's actually "skatebite", unless I'm missing the joke, which is possible. :-k

As long as it wasn't a poisonous skate recovery time should be minimal. :-D

You might find some helpful hints in that discussion. You may be having issues with your tactics, you might want to try toning down the intensity of your game (easier hitting, lower tempo and so on) or you may be training your boys too hard. Or you might just be unlucky.;)

MOD NOTE : Thanks for pointing out the existing thread, rottamies. I'm going to go ahead and merge these. Lesher78, please do a search before starting a new thread. - B72

do you also have problems with injuries during the playoffs?
I mean, my key players always seem to go down when I get to the second round.
right now, it's April 30 2009 and I'm playing the Flyers with the Devils. everything went fine in the first round but now, my injury list looks like this:
Paul Martin, 3 weeks, hip pointer
Patrik Elias, 1 month, rotator cuff strain
John Madden, 10 days, dislocated jaw
Zach Parise, 1 week, groin strain
Dainius Zubrus, 3 months, partially torn MCL

they all got injured after the last game of the first round. I'm in game three against the Flyers, and guess what, I'm down 0-3.
I love this game, I really do, but I still think it's a McDavid-ing cheater.

I play with the Oilers currently in the third season and my team had 7 injuries so far, with never more than two weeks of recovery. :-p And in the last playoffs i had everyone healthy through all games. :-o I think it's a matter of luck but also what practice you run. And you need at least two physios.. to lower the probability of injuries.;)

well in regards to practice, during the playoffs, I have everyone set to general (except for the goalies), occasionally giving them all a rest, so I don't think I'm overdoing it. I do have two physios.
all of these players went down in the course of about seven days, and they're basically my number one defenseman, my number one penalty killer, and three of my top four offensive players. moreover, Madden and Elias are the two alternate captains. I'd say that's real bad luck.
on the other hand, I'm really surprised, because I won games four and five against PHI (2-0 and 4-3 ot) and Parise recovered, so he'll be ready to to play games six and hopefully seven. :)

Did they get injured in game or practise? If they injured in game you should hire a good goon after deadline has passed.

In one of my run deep into Stanley, my 2 best defensemen were injured from round one to finals and guess who was the Conn Smythe? My usual 5th defenseman that loggued twice his usual icetime and had more points in this playoffs than in his whole career... That's when you thanks this deep drafts you made over the year to stock pill talents in your system...

In the second and third year of my current game, Toskala got injured in both playoff years. In the first year he got injured in the second round but managed to sweep the Sabres anyway with Brain Boucher playing well. Then we ran into the rangers and neither Boucher nor Pogge were able to make a lick of difference. The next year I signed Osgood as my backup. He played rather mediocre through the regular season. Toskala again gets injured for 2 weeks during the playoffs. Osgood plays off the top of his head and won something like 10 games in route to winning my first cup!

After that I got sick of Toskala getting injured so I traded up in the draft to pick up who I think is the Hasek regen. He won AHL goalie of the year twice in a row and he's currently my starter with the Leafs and he's doing darn well.
