Is he somebody that retires at the beginning of the game? This game was started with the latest TBL database. If this is a regen of him... that's some nice potential!

Selne... I don't think his defensive and offensive attributes matter so much at this point. Here is what to look for, based on a post batdad made on the first page of this thread...
Information tab. If there is a number there...regen. If not...no regen

Regen attributes that are consistent with original player.

1. Country of birth
2. shooting hand
3. position
4. flair
5. determination
6. bravery (I believe)
7. Adult height and weight (I believe).

May be some others too, but those are the general ideas.

I was trying to explain that there is little chance the regen to be Nieuwendyk's regen because Niewendyk's offensive role is 17 and the defensive role is 13, and if you look at the attributes of the guy above his off'/def roles seem pretty close. :-)

Anybody know who this regen is? I initially thought it might be Hasek, but I'm not sure. I'm not very good at picking it.
He's listed as an acrobatic goalie with a consistency of 17 that's what made me think it might be him.

When I cycle through the transfer centre under the NHL tab and go back to the first season i can click players who are retired and it shows up as young players... is this the players regen or is it just because another player has taken over the original player's number in the database?

For example, Aaron Voros shows up as a 15 year old Canadien center?

That is most likely Cechmanek or Hasek, yes.

Anyone spotted that before? This might be an ultimate way to find regens of certain players. Hm, but it seems like Voros isn't center...at least according to NHL.com and Wiki (when I was typing google.com I accidently wrote googlos, lol)

That settles that unless Tkachuk has Sweden as his 2nd nation. Not the regen, but is kind of random...Likely just a random regen who is taking up Keith's old spot in the dbase.

Yeah, there's probably some sort of "record number" in the player database and that player probably took that number. If you sim a day or two, is the same player listed there?

The only Russian defenseman that retired (that I can tell... only have the HoF to go by...) was Zubov, and he's definately not 6'4"...

But this kid is a beast, his attributes have been going through the roof and he's getting first star in every u-20 game he plays...
Solved this one, Vladimir Malakhov. I have him too, his technical and mental stats are pretty much the same but unfortunately my guy is a poor skater. But he'll still a good 3rd pair defenseman.
I think I've got that guy aswell, I was going to ask but looks like this guy. Only thing is I drafted him in 2010 not 2009 so is it still the same guy? Mine is 6 foot 4 and looks similar in stats to this one, although mines a lot better, just more greens... although mine does have just 3 for influence! Afraid I can't give a screenshot as my comp can never seem to do it :(

Going slightly off-topic - How would you suggest I develop this player? He could jump into being a #3/4 D man for me right away but I don't remember him being anywhere near this good a year ago when I drafted him, he's averaging a rating of 8/61 in the RSL although I don't have that league active so I can't see any games or anything. He's a point per game aswell. Should I play him NHL, AHL (he's not CHL drafted), or leave him where he is?

Feel free to move this post to a strategy thread if you thinks thats where its better suited, its kind of both lol.

No harm in starting him low and moving up if he rates highly in lower league. Also find out what your coaches say about him

Hey everyone, I just finished my 1st season with the Wild but I have a question (if it is stupid I apologise). After the season, the game updated as it always does. Nicklas Lidstrom then proceeded to retire. My question is will I have to wait until the end of the upcoming season for the game to update again before his regen comes into the game?

The regen may not come out until Jan the next season, and he will come in as a 16 year old or so since he is a Euro. North AMericans come in at 14.

i'm still kind of confused. So if a guy retires in the summer of '06, should i look for his regen in the '08 draft or the '09 draft? Hasek retired in '06 and in the '08 draft there aren't any goalies from the czech repulic...? :dunno:

Could this kid possibly be a regen?

He's also got a visible consistency of 12.

Your link doesn't have a pic in it.

Anyway, if he came to exist after the 2006-07 season, then yes, he is most definately a regen. There is no other way for new players to be created into the game than as regens. "Who's regen" is a whole another question.
