In the East, the Sabres, Devils and Lightning have all won their divisions and will place no worse then 3rd seed, although it looks very unlikely the order will change in the top 3. It is also very unlikely that the Rangers will fall out of 4th spot and not get home ice advantage in the 1st round. After that it gets a little muddy. The Capitals, Leafs and Canadiens are guarenteed playoff spots with the Capitals have an outside chance of moving up to 4th, but could finish as low as 7th. The Leafs can move as high as 5th, and as low as 7th, while Montreal can move to 5th but no lower then 7th.
The following teams are fighting for the final playoff spot, the Jets, Senators, Islanders, Penquins and Bruins.

Western Conf W L O/L Pct Pts

Minnesota…. 27 45 7 0.386 61
The Canucks are guarenteed to win thier division but can be either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd seed, The Red Wings have not clinched their division so they can finish 1st to 4th, the Sharks are guarenteed no worse then the 3rd seed. The Blackhawks could still win the Conference but could finish as low as 5th, while the Kings can only move up as high as 4th, but will not finish worse then 5th. The Avs can finish no higher, but could fall to 8th, while the Flames can move as high as 6th, but could finish 8th as well. The Ducks can fihish as high as 6th and as low as 8th.
All 8 Playoff spots in the West have secured.

The 19 year old is currently with the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In 70 games he has 8 goals, 33 points, +5 rating and 106 PIMs. Canadiens scouts like his size and consider him a 5th-6th defensive style defenseman potentially.
