I am playing game with minimal roster 4.1b and this great patch and it works brilliant.
Just yesterday I stared new game with `wilders` from Minnesota and looking forward season

Yes I did! I recently finished my first season with the Rangers. I've been meaning to post some screenshots showing the scorers, etc. I'll try to do it tonight.bobmcgoo wrote:if anyone has any comments or suggestions for improvement i'd love to hear. did you ever start that new game Archi, anyone else? is it still working okay?
I downloaded the realism patch where you also made the weight adjustment to eliminate the bug where heavy players dominate and it's improved the game so much for me. I only needed to make a few changes to the database before I started my game (edited a few players CAs to correct team depth charts and added a lot of major injuries that occured in the 2011/12 season) and the results have been awesome.bobmcgoo wrote:feel i've gotta defend Archi's and my project here. i specifically said in the first post "3) The database I have at the moment has changed every player in the game, so while the NHL is now realistic I imagine that other leagues won't be." so how you got any impression that i just changed NHL players, i'm not sure. and then a few pages later, if you've have bothered to read first, you'd see Alessandro confirm that it does actually work for European leagues too.
the patch is approaching 400 downloads if you include the mediafire link too, and the only issue had was found to be with running the game on a low detail setting. so clearly something is working. i hate to praise my own project but the simple fact is it does the job it's intended to do. if it doesn't do what you intend it to do, don't use it - although i think it does do what you want, you just didn't read. but like Archi said, constructive criticism is fine. if anyone has any comments or suggestions for improvement i'd love to hear. did you ever start that new game Archi, anyone else? is it still working okay?
Thanks! I'll change the first post to make the weight-adjusted file easier to find.paul4587 wrote:I downloaded the realism patch where you also made the weight adjustment to eliminate the bug where heavy players dominate and it's improved the game so much for me. I know what you mean by this but I don't think it's caused by the realism patch; it's something I've always noticed in EHM. Same with the own-team-boost that Squadz mentioned here http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 9&start=70, where games that you manage have more shots and more goals for both teams. Just a quirk with the game we have to live with to enjoy it.paul4587 wrote:The only thing that is a bit off is that some of the better offensive defensemen struggle to produce (Karlsson, Weber, Suter) while other guys like Kronwall and Edler produce far too much. I think defensive scoring depends a lot more on the quality of team a player is on as opposed to their actual abilities as Weber has started putting up huge numbers since he was traded to the Flyers at the 2014 trade deadline.
Thanks for that.paul4587 wrote:Also, there seems to be a bug with the Selke trophy as it was awarded to Steve MacIntyre with no runner up in the 2011/12 season and in the 2012/13 season it wasn't awarded at all. That may be to do with the CSD patch though.
The reason I thought strength was worth looking at is because the version of Champ Man that preceded EHM (CM 03/04 IIRC) had a bug/issue whereby strength was greatly over-rated in that players with higher strength ratings would play significantly better. Alas, and thankfully, this doesn't affect EHM.Alessandro wrote:Yes strenght makes no effet, it's size which matters.
first of all, they were set to 20 because (it seems to me) offensive role/defensive role define how many scoring chances and shots on goal a team creates/stops in a game. So a team of purely "20 offensive role" guys playing against a team of "1 defensive role" guys will create a very high number of chances/shots no matter what other stats each player has (like creativity for the offensive team, positioning for the defensive team etc). so initially i thought i needed to raise the offensive role of all forwards to 20 so that they create enough shots in the game for the goalie save percentages to be right.ctid wrote:How come basically all NHL forwards now have their offensive role set to "20"?
I am using 4.2b and the Realism Patch. Just implemented the realism patch for the first time, and have been reading something about Height/weight attributes have been modified in order to more accurately simulate realism.
However, afterwards I checked using the editor and all NHL forwards are now offensive players. Why is that?
i sent you a PM.archibalduk wrote:Ah I see! I had been working on an improved version of the MET Attribute Editor which allows you to choose value/percent for each individual attributes. This would resolve this difficulty.
Would you mind making a list of the changes to be made and whether they should be by value or percent? Then once I finish the new editor, I can add you new csv file to the new editor.
So is this second version much different to the first version? Is the scoring level still the same, or have the Offensive Role tweak had an effect on this?
