Seems like the Lightning are interested by Tyler Seguin and that the Bruins are willing to listen to what Tampa bay as to offer. I'm not sure how true this one could be, I thought Seguin was the futur of the Bruins.

Official NHL 2013 Off-Season Thread
So the draft is coming fast and there's alot of rumors, weird ones, that came up today. Seems like Gillis is willing to trade Schneider instead of Luongo and that the Oilers are very interested. What the heck is that? After all that Luongo fiasco at the deadline he now tries to trade the other one. He lost the small amount of credibility he had towards me if he do that.

I think Gillis finally came to the realization that Luongo is practically untradeable. No doubt Schneider is not only more tradeable but will fetch a bigger return. Makes sense to me though it's too bad it took him so long to figure it out.

Probably but he destroyed Luongo's trust towards him IMO. Luongo don't want to play for Vcr anymore, at least that's what I understood back at the deadline. Maybe he changed his mind.

I actually liked his answer "You have to listen". Just because he listened to an offer doesn't mean Schneider is necessarily "in play".
Had Vancouver won the Cup, no, they wouldn't need to listen. They didn't though, and they need to fix some things.

Letang signed a 8 years deal worth 58 millions with the Pens.
Justin Falk got traded to N-Y Rags.
There also something about Mike Smith signing a 6 years deal with Phoenix but this isn't confirmed yet.

Yes because if anyone deserves to make over $7m/yr AAV it's the "Norris candidate" that was exploited the $#&*(@ out of and was in many ways a huge reason why PIT got swept by the Bruins. Ask the Capitals how it works to sign an offensive defenseman who can be scary in his own end to a long, high-dollar contract. At least Suter and Weber aren't horrific in their own end at times.philou21 wrote:Letang signed a 8 years deal worth 58 millions with the Pens.
I laughed back when Darren Dreger first reported on those terms a few days ago but nobody believed them, and I'm laughing now. It's going to be no fun for PIT in Cap Prison. Resume the Trade Malkin rumors, everyone...

Even if he was better in his own zone nobody deserves that much money anyway.

Schneider to the Devils for their 9th pick! Never expected the Devils to be involved in that but it makes sense with Brodeur. The 9th pick since a little high for me though.

Stunned. After all the bridges they've burned with Luongo, I don't know how the Canucks get out of this one. He's a pro and I imagine he'll give it a go, but...philou21 wrote:Schneider to the Devils for their 9th pick! Never expected the Devils to be involved in that but it makes sense with Brodeur. I'd imagine a Luongo trade is still on the horizon. If not now, down the line.
The Wings should have had Todd Bertuzzi go to the podium to announce Tyler Bertuzzi. "The Red Wings pick Tyler Bertuzzi. And if you don't like it you can go f*** yourself. THIS IS SPIN-TUZZI COUNTRY! *drop mic*..."

Mike Gillis screwed up so bad at the trade deadline with Luongo that I wouldn't be surprised if he trades him away anyway. I don't think Luongo is happier because Schneider is gone, we've clearly seen that Luongo don't want to play there anymore and I don't think it's gonna change with Tortorella coming to scream at him if he's not motivated.

I wish Alexander Barkov (Finland) would have been picked by some other team than Florida Panthers. But anyway second pick overall is very good as a Finn!

I always have that feeling that being drafted by the Panthers is the worst feeling ever. Hell I would prefer Columbus I think.

Coyotes. I have to imagine the Coyotes is, and has been, worse still. Not only is the team as bad, but the Glendale mess on top of it, not to mention you have to be in the middle-of-nowhere relatively speaking to the rest of the continent. Phoenix is Edmonton South, without any tradition.philou21 wrote:I always have that feeling that being drafted by the Panthers is the worst feeling ever. Hell I would prefer Columbus I think.

Yeah at least Florida has the beaches!
I can't think of a worse team to go than Phoenix either. Although I don't think Columbus is much better IMO - they also struggle to pull in the crowds and tend to be outside the top 8 in the standings.

I never liked the Panthers. They don't develop good prospects, their team is always mediocre and their shirt/colors looks like a cheap brand at the super market.

On the positive side is that being picked by a "bad" team is that you propably get more ice-time IF you succeed.

DiPietro has been buy out by the Isles. No big surprise for everyone I think. It's gonna cost them 1.5 millions for.........16 years!!!!!!!

Isles own Thomas' rights and with buying out Dipietro, you can follow the likely conclusion there.jhcjobpb wrote:Maybe they can get Tim Thomas, read that he's probably looking for a team.philou21 wrote:Llaw wrote:I don't think they have a good goalie in their ranks though.

That would make the Bruins happy as they get a second-round draft pick if Thomas plays for the IslandersPrimis wrote:Isles own Thomas' rights and with buying out Dipietro, you can follow the likely conclusion there.

I don't think Thomas will settle for Islanders. He'll become an UFA soon.
