Flyers 2042-43 preview

Since taking control on Broad street before the 2022-23 season, GM Keith O'Neil, and his many aliases, have made a habit of trading top picks for over the hill stars and over valued players. those bad habits, for the most part, ceased a few seasons ago and have left Flyers fans cautiously optimistic this season. the 2042-43 roster is loaded with former 1st round draft picks, including two recent #1 overall picks. with only two playoff appearances (2030/31 & 2031/32) from the 8 seed, with early exits thanks to playing the #1 seeds, over his tenure, things had to change.

the offence, with a nice balance of experience & youth should put pucks in the back of the net, the defense is still a work in progress, waiting on a few prospects to develop. the coaching staff plans to play a very physical style this season and opposing teams better keep their heads up,and any time a puck touches the wood, Flyers players will throw it towards the net.

that said, let's take a look at this seasons projected line up:

Ledaire Gill Racicot
recent aquisition Ledaire joins last years calder runner up another former #1 overall pick ready to hit his stride, this line should score a good deal of goals

Lundberg Jurica Foster
5th year C coming off solid campaign flanked by two quality veterans should cause some match up problems

Silin Chouinard McDonnell
good face off skills and solid defensive wingers make this checking line one of the best Philly has seen in years

Karlsson Welch Egener
the fourth line consists of two rookies, who are expected to see alot of time on the top three lines during the course of the season

extra forwards:
Krelove, steady RW that now holds all Philly career scoring records, will start season in AHL
Krajsek, compotent winger
Dallaire, high drat pick that scored 54 G in juniors last season expected to see some call up time

Boudreau Chartrand
recently acquired Chartrand should add much needed offensive punch, while boudreau keeps his back to the net

Laine Sykora
two steady defensemen, holding spots until prospects are ready

McDoanald Dallaire
defensive defensemen able to hold their own


extra Dmen:
Parker, 19 y/o defenseman who has torn up the OHL should get plenty of minutes this season
St.Pierre, solid young Dman, ready to see some icetime
Thorpe, 20 y/o had nice season in AHL ready to step up?
Picard, 21 y/o enforcer will startseason in AHL, has played solid in NHL on and off last few seasons


Goalie:
Mcneil, entering his 4th season, has had to try to stop everything. a better lineup in front of him should help. he should be almost ready to shine
Swanson, journeyman net minder, not expecting much from him

two other goalies were signed during FA when management realized we had none ....lol
