Try exporting the player attribute data from the saved game. Compare the names and DOBs of the NO MATCH players between how they appear in the exported spreadsheet and in your Updater spreadsheet.

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
In the attribute_update spreadsheet there are colums for day/month/year so I don't think it's the problem and the names are also spelled correctly.
I did 15 updated players and half of them were good, the others gave me the no matching player error.
*Ok I will compare the spreadsheet

I compared, the name are fine. The dob are different but that's what I changed.
(I changed dob, height and weight and some pos for some players)

The DOBs are different for the NO MATCH players?

Yes the dob from exported att are different from the no match players. The no match and the attributes_update spreadsheet are the same.

I'm not I follow. Are you saying the DOBs of the NO MATCH players are in fact being updated?

I don't understand this.Asbeen wrote:Yes the dob from exported att are different from the no match players.

I think maybe the best way of getting to the bottom of this is if you upload your saved game and attribute_update spreadsheet. I can then test it out to see where the problem lies.

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
Thanks to Archibalduk, it was my error. I was trying to change the DoB but the problem was that I was changing it in the wrong column. The first DoB is the "actual" one that need to match the name of the player. There is a column for "New DoB" at the end of the attribute_update sheet.
It works great!

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
Is there a way to delete a player in a saved game?
I've got 2 Pontus Aberg, one born in 1996 and the other (the good one) in 1993.

I've never tried to, but I think you can edit the CA/PA and Reputation and I think you can make a player a free agent...I'd guess that if you make the duplicate player you don't want a free agent with a single digit CA/PA/Reputation he'll likely soon be "unable to support himself playing hockey" and he'll retire/regen

The only way I can think of is retiring the player but I want to confirm with Arch.

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
I'm afraid it's not possible in the Updater. There is too much of the saved game structures that I don't know and so I can't do the necessary index updating when deleting a player. Can't make players UFAs in the saved game using the Updater right now (I can't remember if it can be done with the Saved Game Editor). You can't retire players in a saved game right now either (players don't retire in game;they're just changed to a regen).
I think Nino's suggestion of lowering the player's CA/PA/rep is the best way forward.

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
Two questions:
#1 Can we change or add Rights in a saved game?
I tried but I'm getting an error with the contract update. "Unknown Updater file type"
I noticed that a lot of Euro and American players don't get draft in the CHL Import in my game, I don't know why. I'd like to assign them Jr Team's rights.
#2 I opened the 2013-14 TBL Rosters v6.1 with the editor without changing anything and in the "Leagues size" window there's an error with the American hockey League in Other division (1/0), is this normal?

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
The Updater doesn't support this at present. I haven't looked into this (the saved game works differently to the DB), but I can look into it for the next version.Asbeen wrote:Two questions:

It's probably not a problem. I just added that screen to help debug DB errors. I don't think the Other Division has any effect on the AHL, but it does for some other leagues (e.g. the cross-border Euro league - the name of which I've completely forgotten). It's weird because if you load up a saved game, the Divisions seems to be mixed up (i.e. too many teams in different Divisions).Asbeen wrote:#2 I opened the 2013-14 TBL Rosters v6.1 with the editor without changing anything and in the "Leagues size" window there's an error with the American hockey League in Other division (1/0), is this normal?

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
I exported the "exported_player_stats_history.csv" from a saved game but when trying to open Excel I get a message that there is some kind of limitations on how many lines it can open.
I know it's a big file that's why I use csv instead of xml. Need help on this. Thanks

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
I've never encountered that issue before. How many entries are there in the file? You can see how big the player career history is by loading the DB in the Updater -> click on the Database Index tab and find the row entitled staff_history.dat (it'll be towards the bottom). Usually there's around 250,000 entries and I've never had problems with this size.Asbeen wrote:I exported the "exported_player_stats_history.csv" from a saved game but when trying to open Excel I get a message that there is some kind of limitations on how many lines it can open.

What version of Excel do you use? I use 2010.
You could try reducing the amount of staff history entries by removing duplicate and erroneous entries. Click on the Database tab in the Updater -> Remove Duplicate Staff History. Then try exporting the data to your csv file again. Perhaps this will make it small enough.

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
The staff_history.dat is 186418 but my Excel version is 2007.
Might be Excel the problem?
I will try to upgrade MS Office I guess.
*Database tab is grey out, it's a saved game so I won't be able to remove duplicate...

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
It might be that Excel is trying to open the file in compatibility mode. This limits the rows to approx 65.5k. With compatibility mode disabled it can read up to approx 1m rows.
You could try using LibreOffice Calc. It's free to download. Here's the link: https://www.libreoffice.org/download/li ... lang=en-US
You could also email your csv file to me. I can then try loading it in Excel 2010. It'd be a shame if you upgraded to Office 2010 and find it still doesn't work.

I got same kind of error with Libre Office "The data could not be loaded completely because the maximum number of rows per sheet was exceeded."
I will try to send you my csv file.

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
It seems there are over 1 million entries in the staff career history. Excel 2010 loads the first ~1m records but gives an error saying it cannot load the rest of the file (but you can view the first ~1m records without a problem).

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
But in the player stats history there should be statistics for all players from all season? I see only team names with some stats.
I would like to import into a new database those stats (players stats) from a saved game, is it possible?

Re: EHM 2007 Updater (A Pre-Game & Saved Game Editor)
Here's what I've done:
1) Open the updater
2) Open a save game through it
3) Create Spreadsheet Templates (xml, not csv)
4) Opened the contract_update.xml
5) Enter the info needed & save the file
6) Hit the Import button on updater
7) Select the contract_update.xml that I entered the new info on
It keeps telling me "Unknown updater file type"
The ReadMe says to open it in notepad & make sure that the Title tags match (contract_update) & it does. It then suggests pasting the info in that xml into a new xml & renaming it, which gave me the same Unknown Updater File Type error
What can I do?
