Online leagues...

Post by Garethw87 »

So, for reasons unknown, or possibly because despite all my faith I just am not feeling FHM 14. I have the new patch and I'll see if I can get into it more so then during the previous troubled times but I'm considering EHM and playing online for the first time. But where do I start? :-?

I see there is a very established league hosted here at TBL and read over it now and then but is that the best place to apply at? Any help is appreciated!

I clearly didn't scroll down far enough to notice the 'General Online Chat' thanks for the attitude though :thdn:

Easiest place to start with online leagues is applying for DMB league. Most of new online GMs are in it or went through it.

FWIW, TBL is very weirdly-organized. Multiple forum sections for very, very specific things, and then so much else that falls under a General forum that is honestly kinda' buried.

I couldn't disagree more.

Primis wrote:Multiple forum sections for very, very specific things
Exactly! I consider this "well organized" and can't see how anyone could see it as a negative
The sections of EHM downloads & the EHM section divided into general, game knowledge and editing makes total sense to me. So does the FHM section, the sections regarding other games/sims, the DMA/DMB online sections...

I've always thought the primary purpose of TBL was EHM related (and after that, hockey sim/game related), and the divisions referenced above do a good job of reflecting/representing that...I'm not sure what the "so much else" that you refer to is

In my defense I usually just check on the main home screen what is going on, on the left, click the link, post and go away. I rarely use the actual forum list but I agree 'General EHM Chat' seemed like a totally perfect place to ask about Online leagues or anything else, generally about EHM :-p

But I will check out the DMB for sure, it's the one I was checking many times anyway just thought I'd try get some opinions / Batdad abuse ;)

In our defense-it is high time you had a look around and read things before you start "posting away". Have a look for example at the stuff in red at the TOP of every forum. OR was that too high up for you?

And actually--Listening to Primis is probably not the best way to go about things. This site is the MOST organized site to find information that I use on a regular basis. Listening to Nino would be a lot better idea.

Either way I found what I needed to, so thanks I guess...

I also forget this forum belongs to just a few users these days. So excuse me for intruding, I'll try not to post anymore and get in your way!

No it belongs to all the users. But the users need to follow the rules. And like i said, read the red boxes above each forum. HAve a look around. When you walk into someone's place new do you just start randomly doing whatever you want? Why would it be any different here?

I say we burn his house down & kick his dog for having the sheer audacity to post a question in a "General Chat" thread

I'll never get back the 10 seconds I spent reading his post, so I'm now forced to then spend exponentially more time typing out responses to let him know just how badly he screwed up my whole day for posting here

Who else is with me & batgrandpa?

Admin Note: This thread clearly isn't headed in an encouraging direction, so consider it closed.
