That's right - you can't buy Mac EHM any more.

I don't know whether this will work but it might be worth a try using the demo:

One possible solution might be to try using a trial version of CrossOver Mac. CrossOver Mac allows you to install and run Windows software from within Mac OSX. It would be well worth trying to run the demo of EHM using a trial of CrossOver Mac. I must emphasise that this is not something I have tried (I don't have a Mac) and hence I recommend trying to use the trial version first. However, I have successfully installed and played EHM 2007 using CrossOver Linux so it is well worth a try.

I think your best bet would be running a PC version with an emulator, like CrossOver Mac or Bootcamp. I don't know if these actually work, though.

Otherwise, Mac users are out of luck.

Edit: Too late :-p .

Looks like bad wording. Essentially, it's the Windows version via digital download. They charge extra to send you a CD with a backup copy of the file on it. Keep in mind, this CD doesn't change the fact that you'll need to use eLicense with it.

will it require internet connection for activation. will i only be entitled to a certain amount of backups before the disc is useless?

That's correct, but I think it's just a backup CD from eLicense - not an official boxed version of EHM. They probably just burn the setup.exe to a blank CD.

Yeah, basically the disc is a waste of money. You're paying for them to send you a disc with the exe burned to it. You could do that yourself. They added that option at the time because buying a digital license wasn't as widely accepted at the time the game came out.

No matter if you buy the disc or not, your license for the game allows you to play it on 2 computers at once. You'll need an internet connection to activate the game but after that you won't a connection to play it. You can unlicense a computer (requires an internet connection) and license a new one too. So it's not a big deal if you get a new computer.

Honestly, most of us have been playing this game, with no CD (just our digital license) for several years now. It's nothing to be concerned about.

Hello guys.

I checked all the links you posted, also the link on SI site and all show same thing - you cannot buy EHM any more :(

Any suggestions, as I think price on the Amazon (60$) is (a bit but still) too much.

Thanks.

Did you try to download the "try n buy" demo? http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =82&t=9526

Over a year ago it seemed EHM was no longer on sale, but then some people were able to purchase it...there's a thread about it http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... &start=125

My understanding is EHM07 was sold pretty much exclusively as a digital download...are you sure what was on Amazon was EHM07? (EHM05 was sold as a boxed version with CD, as was the 2004 version which was simply titled "Eastside Hockey Manager"). I've bought EHM05 off ebay twice, both times for a little less than $20

Regards :-)

Just had to completely reboot my machine, and have downloaded the try n buy demo in the link above. However, whenever I launch the game, I am getting a message saying "The program can't start because msvcr71.dll is missing from your computer"

Anyone know how to remedy this?

Thanks in advance!

Google mscvr71.dll, download it and place it into your Windows folder.

Try contacting SI Games maybe? Over at their forum... or get one of the expensive Amazon copies? Is all I can offer! (Ive been banned twice so far from SI forums for debating Eastside Hockey Manager haha!) anyway...

I've been so lucky over the years with EHM 07. Managing to keep it safe and backed up on any PC changes i've done! I also have a boxed copy of EHM 05 if I ever did lose 07 :joy: But 05 seem pretty easy to come by on ebay or amazon anyway.

What do you mean you've had no luck? What happens when you attempt to purchase it via the demo?

I'm gonna try and buy through the demo this weekend. I want to make sure the demo works first. Unless anyone knows if it's no longer possible to buy through eliscense??? I'd hate to waste the $35.00. If nobody knows, I'll give it a shot and post the results this weekend.

I sold my old PC and forgot to unlicense my EHM so bought a new one and it worked fine. I bought through the web order, entered the expiry date manually and it processed and I have this gem again on my new laptop :)

You didn't tried to contact e-license support before doing that? I've retrieved my license two years after I dump the game so I didn't had to pay.

OK so I had the same question, however, now the si elicense site gives a 404 error. Is it possible to buy ehm 2005 or 2007. I think I had paid for both before and found one of my order emails for 2005. But my elicense part of windows was corrupted by a virus and the elicenser program didn't see any on my pc.

I've bought EHM05 a couple times on Ebay...for EHM07, does purchasing via the Try & Buy Demo (http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =82&t=9526) not work anymore?

Quick Question, I've installed and used my eLicense code twice once in early 2009, and again earlier this year, on two different computers that have since been decomissioned, or reformatted, am I unable to use the eLicense now, as it's been used on 2 computers, or?

Probably not, if you didn't unlicense it from your previous computers.

The last time I tried I was able to retrieve my license from e-license via the Support Form.

Really wish I had have know/realized I could 'Unlicense' it. That's disapointing. So, Support forum is probably my best bet?

*edit* And for the record, I still HAVE the license code, I just used it twice, and didn't unlicense it, so that's the issue, right?
