I just started playing in the WHL and during off-season planning I noticed something. Although I can sign up to 50 players only 26 show up when I filter for "Roster Players Only". When choosing "All contracted" I see them. When looking at the WHL rules in-game it states that there no limit for the number of players on the roster. Is this a bug? Am I overseeing something here? Does anybody else have experience when playing in the CHL?
PS: I saw Manimals OHL guide, but it is for EHM 2007.

Re: WHL roster size
Are they all actually on your roster? If you have players playing in Junior A or Midget (and Bantam too in the WHL) they could be "playing for" another team but "contracted to" your team (so I'd think you'd "call them up" to your WHL team the same way you'd call up an AHL or ECHL player when you're GMing an NHL team)Bam_Margera wrote:I just started playing in the WHL and during off-season planning I noticed something. That was my first thought as well. They're not assigned to another team.nino33 wrote:Are they all actually on your roster? There was one more odd thing about them (and please note that I am currently in August 2021): Altough they had contracts running until Jun 2022 I was able to offer them "an new contract" for the 2021/22 season. Yet, they still remain "hidden" after they signed these contracts.

Hopefully CeeBee will see this, as he's quite knowledgeable about how the WHL works...

Re: WHL roster size
I posted a bug on the SI site where this was happening to players on NHL rosters too.
I'm actually managing in the WHL in that save, but hadn't noticed it in that league, but some players definitely starting going missing, contracted to a team, showing under "all contracted" but not showing or playing for any roster.

Re: WHL roster size
Workarounds I tried:
a) Loan the player to another team, then call them back --> still not available on the "Roster Players Only".
b) Release the player, then re-sign him --> works, but you risk him signing with another team (and they will try to snag him up)
c) Trade the affected players.
