Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
I downloaded 9.4 today via Steam. How do I load that database to the editor? It's not in my map with the other DB's...

It's located in this path inside your steam folder: \steamapps\workshop\content\(numbers folder) then you have to create new folder in database folder and copy inside files from workshop.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Has anybody been able to test the spreadsheet importing yet? I am going to do some further testing this weekend but could really do with feedback from others because I will surely overlook something.archibalduk wrote:A new version of the Editor is available here (v 0.1.8): http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 85#p206841
Mostly I am interesting in knowing whether anyone is able to "break" the importer or make it do things that do no look right. I can then add some logic to the Editor to try and correct or prevent such things.
Things to try are:
1. Can you add a new club, player, non-player and player career history item?
2. Can you edit the settings/attributes of an existing club, player, non-player and player career history item?
3. Can you rename a club, player and non-player?
4. Can you change the date of birth of a player and non-player?
5. Can you make a player and non-player a free agent?
6. Can you make a non-player contracted to a national team?
7. Can you change a player to a non-player and vice-versa?
Also - does the ordering of the columns in the club spreadsheet make sense? I can change the order if it makes anything easier.
Note that deleting items is not yet up and running.

In clubs file, I seem to get an error with cities and arenas no matter what I input...
I'm running other tests, will let you know.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Adding extinct clubs to non-playing leagues seems to be working well. I added a team in the KHL and it gave me an error (no crash, just an error with the number of teams, I did it on purpose and it's the expected behavior).
I tried adding two new teams to a non-playable league, and it failed. I'll do screenshots now.

Also, player budget doesn't work at least for big sums I tried to input 30 million dollars (30000000) and excel converted it into something like 30xe7 and it got imported as zero.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Named & Alessandro - Thank you!
I should have mentioned before that the format for entering cities is: city name:nation or city name:state:nation. The state is optional and is useful where there is more than one city in the USA or Canada with the same name. State/province is entered using its two letter abbreviation. Nations are entered using a three letter abbreviation. I could, however, add the option to use city short names as well.
Examples are:
berlin:ger
london:gbr
toronto:can or toronto
can
new york:usa or new york:ny:usa
Arena names are similar. You enter like this: arena name:nation. Again, it is the three letter nation name.
Examples are:
honda center:usa
vtb-arena:rus

What exactly are you entering into the spreadsheet? If you give me some examples then I can let you know whether or not they should work (and whether or not there is something not working with the Editor).Alessandro wrote:In clubs file, I seem to get an error with cities and arenas no matter what I input...

Thanks. I will look at converting the scientific notation to digits (e.g. 3E+07).Alessandro wrote:Also, player budget doesn't work at least for big sums I tried to input 30 million dollars (30000000) and excel converted it into something like 30xe7 and it got imported as zero.
When you say that it failed, do you mean that they did not appear in game? I think this is what you mean from your screenshots, but I want to be clear. If so, I will do some tests too.Alessandro wrote:I tried adding two new teams to a non-playable league, and it failed. I'll do screenshots now.

Why you didn't mention the format lol.
I'll test it now.
Yes, the teams don't appear in the game, that's what I mean.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Formats for city and arenas do work, but (new) teams still don't appear in the game.
Existing clubs somewhat do it.
I need to test editing a team in a playable league, but I guess that will work.
EDIT: I tried editing a bit Donbass Donetsk playing in the custom-created Ukraine league, all worked. Good stuff.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
I'm not sure the staffy history can really edit old entries in stuff like changing leagues or teams. It mostly seems that adds a new line. Maybe it's logically not wrong, because I think that there is no way for the editor to understand if it needs updating or adding rows.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
1. Can you add a new club, player, non-player and player career history item? All is yes, but new clubs seem not to appear in the game. Players history is ok for both reg season and playoffs.
2. Can you edit the settings/attributes of an existing club, player, non-player and player career history item? Ok for clubs, seems to work for players, careers seem not
3. Can you rename a club, player and non-player? Haven't tried, can't find settings in the sheets.
4. Can you change the date of birth of a player and non-player? Same
5. Can you make a player and non-player a free agent? I did Burmistrov an ufa. It made through, but he got WIPED. All set to zero (CA, positions, attributes, etc. Everything. History was retained.)
6. Can you make a non-player contracted to a national team? Yes, but it seems that he gets his team contract's date of expiration... perhaps we should input 1.2.1900?
7. Can you change a player to a non-player and vice-versa? In the editor it worked, in teh game the guy i set didn't appear. Will try again later with full DB.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Thanks! This is really helpful. I am working through everything you have raised and will fix accordingly.
The Editor works on the assumption that there should be no more than one regular season entry and one playoff entry for any one team and league combination per season. It is acceptable to have more than one league entry provided each entry is for different teams. Equally, it is acceptable for more than one team entry provided they are for different leagues.
The reason for this automation is to prevent us accidentally importing duplicate entries. Instead, the Editor will assume you are trying to edit an existing entry.
Players/Non-Players: See columns AA-AB (New First Name and New Second Name).
4. See column AC (New Date of Birth).
5. See columns I, J and R (Classification, Job For Club and Job For Nation).

Editing teams and leagues in a staff history entry - you're right, it cannot be done. I think there was a reason for this but I cannot recall why. I will add two new columns to the spreadsheet for editing team and league name.Alessandro wrote:I'm not sure the staffy history can really edit old entries in stuff like changing leagues or teams. Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
The cause is the lack of a Club Reputation. As a test, I set the reputation to 8000 and the Berlin Bears (which I created using the spreadsheet) appear in the Serie B.Alessandro wrote:Yes, the teams don't appear in the game, that's what I mean.
Although I could set a default minimum setting, I think it would be too high for most teams in non-playable leagues (it seems it has to be pretty high for it to appear in game unless the team belongs to a playable league).

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
I keep on not getting these frigging Berlin Bears to appear in the game. Archi, would you share a screenshot of your clubs file?
Also, turning a player into a non-player works, but it doesn't kill the player profile. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Regarding Burmistrov set as UFA... I think that it's counter intuitive. I should just be able to get him with club _ufa like in old contract file... not filling other stuff, I tried adding player, etc., yet he's still wiped out with all zeros.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Fixed. This was actually quite a significant bug where a lot of data was being reset (attributes, dates, etc). Given the extent of this issue, I will release a new version of the Editor tomorrow or Monday.Alessandro wrote:5. Can you make a player and non-player a free agent? I did Burmistrov an ufa. I cannot repeat this issue. When I set a staff member to a nation contract, his expiry and joined dates are whatever they were before (usually 1.2.1900). I cannot see any copying of dates from the club contract dates.Alessandro wrote:6. Can you make a non-player contracted to a national team? Can you name a particular non-player where you have encountered this issue? I will then try it with that non-player.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
It ought to remove the player profile upon saving (this is to give you a chance to undo the change without losing the attributes) - but it seems it is not working. I'll look into this.Alessandro wrote:Also, turning a player into a non-player works, but it doesn't kill the player profile. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
What other "stuff" do you mean? I have now set the date joined and contract expiry dates to automatically revert to 1.2.1900 when a player is made a free agent. Are there other fields you think should be reset? I guess we could also reset the salary data.Alessandro wrote:Regarding Burmistrov set as UFA... I think that it's counter intuitive. Thanks. I think this is a game issue rather than an Editor issue. I will check and, if so, will add it to my list of issues to report to Riz.Alessandro wrote:

But seems i cant get it working i took over VIK Västerås HK (Swedish Hockeyallsvenskan) when i choose Open Saved game then go to Clubs>Clubs>Finances and added 15mil and playerbudget to 6,5mil but i dont see the changes in game.
