Quick, stupid question (Captains)

Post by titan124 »

I know this is a quick and dumb question, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere.

How do you set captains?

In Tactics, go to Team Tactics. You should see it right in there.

UGH that was so obvious, I must've checked there 20 times too. Thanks a lot.

Also, what are the most important attributes for captains? Just generally good stats in mental?

Influence is the #1 attribute, but you want to have good determination and teamwork too, and probably work rate as well.

Experience is the other important aspect. All other things being equal, a 30-year-old veteran with 15 influence will in all likelihood make a better captain than a 20-year-old rookie with 18 influence.

While it doesn't have any real advantage in the game, I pick my captain as stated above and then I take the 2nd place skater not on that player's usual line and my best leader defenseman as my A's. I figure then there's a better chance that someone with some leadership will be on the ice at most times.

I double Kekkonen and Minty for C and A's.

I'd just add that you're captain would better have an important icetime. If your captain only plays for 4-5 minutes on your 4th line, he won't have a real influence on the ice :-k

True. The way I'd put it is this: your captain should ideally be one of your better players. Not necessarily the best, but a significant part of your team nonetheless.
