World Cup

Post by PeTrIe »

Ok, so the World Cup of Hockey is coming up in a little over 3 weeks, so who do you guys think is going to win the tournament this time?

Personally I find it hard to look past Canada to win it, they have the same management from the '02 Olympics and such a strong squad of players. But the US also seem real strong at the moment and could surprise the Canadians like in '96. But after seeing football's Euro 2004 tournament, it is so difficult to call tournaments like this! Maybe the smart money should be on Slovakia :-D

I voted Finland, only not to jinx it or something, but could they win it? Hmm... if they don't mess up and score when they get the chance, I guess there's a chance. I'll definately be cheering for them, no doubt about it :clapping:

Finland off with a good start! :clapping:

4-0 Czech Republic and 3-0 Germany (no surprise there)

Next is Sweden... that'll be a game not to miss! :)

I was the only one who voted for the Czechs.....and with some luck it could had happened  . At the End of the 3rd and in OT they had Canada on the brink of elemination. Thanks to Luongo the Canucks survived. Its been a great tournament so far, with amazing game speed. So i hope the final also will be. 8) Watch the Highlights here:http://www.wch04.com/index.html

I got it right :-D. Well, it's unfair for European countries, but the NHL is and will continue helping the devlopment of their players.

I don't have problems with that coz I support Canada (and Belgium stinks :-D)
