Free agency is one way of curing team suckitis...
Cheers dude - those daily e-mails have been driving me nuts

Regarding the free agency - I've been dabbling in that quite a bit in an attempt to patch things up a little. Though I'm still rock bottom :(
How did you managed? I changed my Report E-mail, since I cant do the same with the league one and yet I still get them mails... Am I missing something here?

Mmmkay, I've been looking for well over an hour now at espn website and was unable to find any answers. Can someone fill me in on how do G, A, PIMs, GAA, SV%, etc translate into points? From what I've seen so far, I would say goals are the top of the list then A then ATOI but I'm totally unaware how goalie stats work...

We're not using that system. We're getting rated in each category with the top team getting 20 pts, the second 19 and so on. Then it's all added together

Like manimal said, you're ranked among the league in each category (G, A, PIM, etc.). Based on that ranking, you're given points. Your total points is just the sum of these points you earned in each category.

For example:

Suppose the 'Goals' column is sorted from most to least. The team with the most goals will be first, and gets 20 points, second place gets 19, third gets 18, etc. all the way down to the team with the least goals who will get 1 rotisserie point. These points are based on the number of teams in the league, so points for us go from 20 points for a 1st place down to 1 point for 20th place, since we have 20 teams.

This is done for all the other categories, and then added-up for each team to get a total. The above is what you see when you look at our league standings. The top table shows our points earned from each category, and our theoretical total points. The bottom table shows the actual stats that our fantasy players have earned for us.

It's basically a lot like Formula 1, or any other motorsport. Drivers earn points from each race based on their position, and then given a total to determine the championship standings. In our case, the individual categories are like the individual races.

Ahhh, i get it now, sort of, thanks for the explanation Stinson.

My luck is not in this year. Briere now has a stomach muscle tear and is to be out for 4 weeks! Coupled with some bad scoring all round means... Rubbish. :thdn:

Someone offer me some trades, need practically a whole new line-up, so holla if you have a decent one in mind.

Just want to be polite and thank all you guys for the trades you made with me. Every one is working so far for me save one...Barker-Ladd...but I think B72 is not too happy with that one either.

Seeing as every team played in the league yesterday: did anyone have any shockingly good performances by players they had to leave on the bench?

Robyn Regehr had an assist, was plus one, had two shots on goal and 26 minutes of ice time...but instead I had Shaone Morrisonn in the lineup who was minus 1 with one shot and only had 20 minutes of ice time.

Also, congrats to the Fog Devils on quite a superb day yesterday.

I had Versteeg on the bench who did well, and I missed out on the Boucher win in Tampa. That one hurt, especially since I dressed Mike Smith..who um, lost the game to Boucher.

And you tried to trade him to me...hmmmm.... :-D Ya think I am slow or something??? I tried to get him for garbage (Bergeron) at the start of the season, because he was an upgrade...but um...for Volchenkov? And you complained about someone's trade offers for Kipper...heh. Just razzing ya.

I swear just about everyone on my team is underachieving! They were especially terrible yesterday. The players I put out yesterday were a collective -9, managing just 2 goals, no asissts, and only 13 PIMs. That's pretty sad for a day when EVERYONE played. And now we're back down to 19th.

Haha, i wouldn't ever think that you are slow batdad. I tried trading him to you, because on your list of players that you are interested in of mine, he was on the list. So i didn't know if you actually wanted him or not, obviously not. He isn't having a bad year pointwise (3 in his first 5), obviously early on but his +/- is not what i need right now. No disrespect meant. :-D

That is rough. Even i had a better night than that, :-p . And i think that for the first time in the year, i had a + night, my team is -27 so far, that's truly embarassing.

Check: -23 :joy:

Hmm..would not have known that..I never look back...and in your case WAAAAYYYYYY back. :-D

Edit: just went and checked the whole standings. Nice to see I am back where I belong in my top mod slot. Soon to be the top of TBL!!! I am not being cocky...just honest.

Waits for the smacks from Stinson (arrogant little rookie isn' he), CatchUp (who is never anywhere to be found, so may not hear), B72 (who will say...but, but....I am better than you, I have injuries), Tasku (Who will misspell Smith and Jones and get mad at my spelling of something like Vaananen (ha right!)), Archi and Calv--who are expected to finish dead last and 2nd dead last based on British heritage. Oh and D88...nah, just keep making cards bud! You rule...cept in this.

No smileys available at this time...but let the trash talk begin. Team for 19th....you going down....same with Corinthians.

Haha. Batdad, have you never watched "Wacky Races"? The team in last always pulls through to win in the end.

As soon as i pick up my +/- (which is bad mainly because of the Ducks, which we all know will be turned around soon, 4 wins in a row, will be 5 tonight), i should be gaining on you, but for now, i have the 1 measley point in that category. But with a trade (Obtaining Havlat for Kaberle) and FA acquisitions (Gleason in, Preissing out), i could be on the road to recovery. And when my 2 injured parties (Briere and Zubov) return, they should also offer some more points and hopefully the stars can turn their slump around to help my +/- too.

Ahhh... Who am i kidding, i'll probably slip down to 3rd bottom because of my British heritage too. :-(
