A)
I just started a new game about a week ago. Hakan Andersson is obviously one the strongest scouts in the whole game, but when I tried to re-sign him, because his contract has expired, he always refused, even if I offered the cash and the contract lenght that he wanted, plus a huge signing bonus.
If it because he is 51 and he wants to retire? In the game it says that he isn't interested in negociating a new contract.
He has been in the organization for years, so I'm awed at his decision.
B)
I have the rights to two highly talented Russian defensemen in the late 20s on my reserve list. However, even if I made them sign a contract, unlike the other players on my reserve list, they don't get transfered to North America, even after a few weeks. Is it normal ?
C)
Is it possible that some player that is reported by a talented scout as being a more talented player than a current average player can turn out to be a future franchise player ? As if he was an underachiever in junior, or a late-bloomer.
Anyway, great game so far. It's unfortunate that they won't pursue development of the EHM series.

Regarding B ) If you sign foreign players sometimes they wont join you until the end of their current season, even if you own the rights to the player. Its kind of annoying sometimes but you learn to live with it.Matt714 wrote:A)

Matt, in the future you may want to separate your questions into separate threads (some of them might even fit into existing threads or the answers might be able to be found using the search feature) with subject lines that describe you actual question/problem. When people see a generic subject like "a couple questions" they'll often times skip over the post and not bother to read it.Matt714 wrote:I fixed B by signing them in a previous save game. I guess transfers are done on specific dates.
Can someone answer the other questions, it would be very much appreciated.

A) That is some weird thing about these old game engines. Just let his contract expire and then offer him a contract. If you fail to sign him, find someone else. Always someone out there.Matt714 wrote:A)

B) Players under contract can't go over before season is over. Think it's 7th june? Something like that.
C) Always a chance, depends on his stats and age i would believe.

I found this thread in the Game Knowledge forum:

There you get A) answered.
But it's the same answer that you have already got here.

Yeah, odd.
Shame I can't re-sign him, because I think he is the most skilled scout in the whole game, but it says that he does want to negociate.
