Being one of those people with a birthday late in the year, I won't be in the NHL draft until next season.
So I had my first season with PEI and it looks like I'm becoming the type of player I set out to be. My height and weight are both looking good for the age and type of player too. In my first QMJHL season I had 32 points in 64 games with a +53 rating. I also had 252 PIM and won all 16 fights I fought in. My final average rating was 7.66. Overall, it looks like a pretty good first season for a defensive defenseman.
I'm a bit worried that I might be one of the ones with a lower PA though. My player barely improved in some attributes, didn't improve at all in many, and even went down in a couple areas. That's a bit troublesome.

I had an ok end to a great 4-year career at Culver Military, ending up with 222 goals with 126 assists, a +100 rating and 266 minutes in penalty minutes. I would've played in all 60 games my senior year, but, I was selected for the USA U-20 team and did squat in just 1 game. Unfortunately, what I found below my screenshot is quite disturbing......
"Moving to Michigan State Spartans on 1st August 2010"
So instead of going to my least favorite school, I end up going to my second least favorite!
I do like the fact that my player is 7 inches taller, gained 95 pounds and has a 20 for his wristshot.

Hrm. Happy about another 100-point OHL season, though I went down from last year. Also played 6 less games, though, so maybe that just sort of messed up my scorin' rhythm. <.< >.> And, yay at them finally picking me for the USA U20 team, even if I wasn't that good. And whoo at having more playoff games, even if it was only 8 still.
Bit unsettling that he barely grew in any attributes, but. #17 overall in the NHL draft? Whoo! To the Flyers? Who-...My Pittsburgh friend is gonna kill me. XD Still. I'm not sure who they have now, but if they still have Gagne and Carter and Richards by the time I'm there....
Also, whoo. Height is right where I wanted it.
Edit: Also, hello possible eventual teammates Reimann and Stephenson!

darn it, my player barely improved at all. Anticipation, creativity, hitting and positioning up by 1. Didn't even manage a 7.0 avg...
Atleast he (barely) made it into the third round, maybe the Jackets see something I don't. Or maybe they just wanted another swede for Axelsson to talk to at the rookie camp so he doesn't feel lonely.

Entry Draft 2010:
#66 Dietrich Islanders
I wonder how off our scouting reports were? My character based on scouting report should be easy first round pick. Not high round three!
I also got drafted by a the Islanders
When will they sign me to my 25 year contract?
And why in the hell am I still playing for the Soo Thunderbirds? A team that had no impact at all on the world of hockey. My character needs to get his head together and start playing for a team and league that matter. That is why I think he was drafted so low.
Calv, can you spell out the rules of how we request trades?

Ick - drafted by the Senators and not even in the first round.
Seems from the comments and my own guy that the improvements have slowed down quite a bit. I hope I haven't reached my potential already!?! That would be not good.
McCormick - we both started with the Thunderbirds, but it seems our paths have diverged...

Drafted #11 by the Kings, not bad although I would have liked to go higher.
I'm now 6ft, 185 lbs which is suprisingly very close to my real life stats (5'11, 185), not to mention I play for Prince George which is eerie.
Anyways, my guy is average a PPG which is ok, but I'm +40 which means that of my 70 pts, I've probably had very few scored against my line. I'd probably have more points, but Prince George is a pretty gross team.
I've also noticed that the screenshot for me was taken at the beginning of the year (game 16) and that may be why me (and others) have not seen an increase in stats.
Any idea Calv? Or did I just not develop at all? I'd expect to go up at least a few points.

Dietrich, if you get a 25-year contract, then I definitely need to get a 30-year contract from my new, ahem, team. Charles Wang, are you listening?
Although, if we get those deals, who knows what Gehrig will get since he was drafted in the top 10. 40-year deal? A stake in the team? The new arena named after him? It's so much fun being a part of a team like the Islanders. They almost make the Charlestown Chiefs look like a well-run organization.

Yeah, but they're always taken at the beginning of the season. And 16 games in is actually later than the previous year, so we've had a bit over a year. So, can't see how that would make a difference.jtilson23 wrote:I've also noticed that the screenshot for me was taken at the beginning of the year (game 16) and that may be why me (and others) have not seen an increase in stats.

What are the names of your players? We can keep track of the three of us (or more) as we hopefully move through the Islanders organization.bossman wrote:Dietrich, if you get a 25-year contract, then I definitely need to get a 30-year contract from my new, ahem, team. I have no idea why I am still playing for a midget team
